"I think it's great. I look at it as great news in terms of me being traded. "I knew the repercussions of what I was doing," said Brown, who hasn't committed to attending next week's mandatory minicamp. "I wanted a new deal, but that wasn't happening. So I want a trade. If it can happen now, because they're in a better situation, that's fine. But I realize it could take time."

pretty much. can’t say i hate him…yet.
this got ugly really really fast.
wtf is wrong with him. you’d think he played for the lions or something.
4th and 26!!!!
He isn’t fast enough, Oakland only accepts players that run 4.25’s or faster

next time you better put the cover on your t.p.s reports, charles!
this is the house that pain built, baby!!!! don’t be tippy toeing round here!
7 years with the eagles
and the idiot doesn’t realize how the front office works
Go Cubs Go, Fly Eagles Fly
What the hell happened to him being all about the team, and saying how people would step up in Dawks absence. Then he turns around and asks for more money? I know the front office is all business, but come on… Sheldon, you’re being paid a lot of money, and when Lito was here, he was seen as better than you because he was a ball hawk and was a pro-bowler, now you want a trade like Lito had except you’re not a perennial pro-bowler, you’re not a ball hawk, and you don’t stand out….you’re just solid.
What happened to people just playing out their contracts and then getting traded or paid more? When did it become fashionable for players to sign contracts and then be angry that they’re contract is not renegotiated with 2+ years left. That’s nonsense.. in what other career can you renegotiate a contract after performing your job they way you intended before the term of that contract was up?
This is irritating…the FO holds up its end of the deal by asking for Sheldon to play out his contract that he AGREED to and Sheldon is saying he’s getting disrespected by them. What planet does he live on?
This is greed and ego, Sheldon wants the same deal that somebody else got because he’s been here longer. I say that he performs this year to the salary he wants; the same way we dealt with lito when he wanted the trade.
(Sorry for the poor quality of writing, I keep having to stop to make sure my boss doesn’t see me)
i hope the tate comment gets reced more
it looks like its changing colors … ive never seen one on here be reced to get that green asterisk yet

Check Philly.com
He’s back tracking, saying he is a leader on the team and that he has been talking with Troy Vincent, i believe that Sheldon feels thoroughly Beatch slapped now and is changing his tune
Sheldon shut up. The Eagles should not trade him, and if they finally do…ship him to the Black hole in Oakland or somewhere similar. Let him learn his lesson…He can either get paid a lot of money and be on a championship caliber team like he is now…or he can get paid an even larger, astronomical amount of money and play on a shit team.
WOW
I really really want him gone I thought he was a nice guy but now this. To me this is worse than the TO thing to an extent.
I feel bad for him
It must be a tough life making millions of dollars playing a game. Poor thing.

Hell no
He’s crazy if he thinks he’s getting traded or getting a new contract. The Eagles won’t budge, and now that they have Hobbs, they have leverage if he decides to hold out. He better wise up.

Aparently Shelden Brown doesn't remember TO
I hope we bench him for the whole season just in spite. What a whining baby. Wah! I’m only a millionaire!
The eagles delt with TO, Sheldon was looking to be a solid CB, but we don’t need the turmoil. Keep his ass at home on his couch, or yeah, ship him to detroit
Absolutely.
Agree 100%.
A line needs to be drawn. If you’re gonna sign your contract, and then you’re going to bitch about it regardless of how well it’s panned out for you, then you’re going to be treated like the 3 year old you are.

Interesting...
A few more comments like that, and Sheldon will be riding the pine and STILL not making the $.

trade him for antonio gates straight up...
the chargers have a horrible passing defense and could use brown. hmmmm?
Why?
Didn’t we basically just get a younger, slightly more proven (at the time of their respective drafts/acquisition, obviously) Gates in Ingram?
Makes no sense..

Interesting...
that everyone is so confident in our team and especially our DB’s that we could afford to just sit a hugely important part of our defense with no let down…he was a big part of our #3 defense last year. I’m as angry as the next person over his course of action but i’m not 100% sold on him not being that important to us that we could afford for him to sit.
Let's play a game...
Other than Burgess, TO, and Barber, who’s been let go by the Eagles and actually done something?
Regardless of how we view this situation, the Eagles FO is usually 100% on when they let go of someone or “read the tea leaves”.
Ask Troy, Trot, hell, Takeo, Michael Lewis, Bobby Taylor, Duce, etc etc.
by AshburnAlley on Apr 27, 2009 6:01 PM EDT up reply actions
BUT...
in those situations those players were let go because they were perceived to be at or very near a point where they would be ineffective or very nearing that point due to age. Those were decisions where the team saw their skills going downhill and severed the ties a year early rather than pay. I don’t think that is the case yet with sheldon. i think the team feels he has a few good years left in him for sure.
I dunno...
To be honest, who really thought Trot would leave for Washington, then the whole Duce thing. We’ve let players go with the perception they can still play.
Bottom line for my point is this: the Eagles usually don’t suffer when they get rid of somebody, and I have a feeling the same could be here as well.

I agree there will be a let down if Brown goes but I’m not sure how much. Even before we got Hobbs I really like Hanson and think he could be a starter in the league (look at Rod Hood).
