With the 213th overall pick the Eagles select OG Paul Fanaika
The Eagles turned their attention back to the big uglies that Reid loves to take later on with the pick of 6'6 336lb OG Paul Fanaika from Arizona St.
Strengths:
Outstanding height and bulk...Long arms and huge hands...Naturally strong and powerful...Has a violent initial punch...Stout at the point of attack...Terrific awareness...Solid work ethic...Has a lot of experience.
Weaknesses:
Limited athletically...Isn't light on his feet...Does not have great range and struggles in space...Poor agility...Isn't a knee bender...Doesn't get as good of a push in the run game as he should...Inconsistent leverage.
Notes:
First name is actually "Pauliasi"...Was a three-year starter in the Pac 10...Mother played volleyball at Fresno State...Sister, Lavinia, plays basketball for the Sun Devils...Began his college career as a 370 pound walk-on...Redshirted in 2004...Played in 11 contests as a backup in 2005...Took over the starting right guard job in 2006 and he never relinquished it...The fact that he only put up 15 reps at the Scouting Combine is a big red flag ..Has the type of rare size you just can't teach.
