Eagles trade back in the 3rd round
The Eagles trade the #85 overall pick to the New York Giants for the #91 overall pick in the 3rd round and the 161st pick in the 5th round. That makes 5 picks in the 5th round.
With so many quality TEs on the board, the Eagles very well may have felt they drop back a few slots and still have their pick of TEs and get an extra 5th rounder in the process.

Just 27 more trades...
And we can have every teams 5th rounder!!!!!!!!!!
gah!
as irrational as it is, I actually wanted Barden much more than any other late-round skill position. I mean, 6’6" 230? You can pass that up? He’d win every jump ball!
But I know we need a TE so, its all good I guess. (I HOPE we draft a TE)

Sean Smith
is already off the board

We need a linebacker to cover Barden!
Good move by the Eagles. They still will get their TE and then move into the 4th with their million 5ths
Taking Route 36 will bring you to Touchdown,PHI

Andy must not have been that impressed with any particular TE
Or we would have taken him instead of trading down to the Giants

Scounting rept on Cook
To help us feel better:
“The problem is that he likes to freelance a lot and is too inconsistent as a blocker. At times, he reminds some of former South Carolina bust Troy Williamson, a speedster with a lack of focus.”
They keep saying they want a guy who can block. And they always want guys who don’t freelance.
Compensation for that trade? Another 5th rounder
and a 7, and a 3 next year. Meanwhile, NE got a 2nd rounder next year for a similar trade backwards. sigh Not liking today.
a 5th this year is worth a 4th next year. a 7th this year is worth a 6th next year. A 3,4,6 is worth a 2 in my opinion

Wow. Okay, looking at the # of CB's gone
I think we can put “they’ll draft a CB” to rest. Who’s left?
Just TE.
Hard to see an impact DE or DB in this year’s draft, even if we trade back up (given the number that have gone).
It looks like Andy doesn’t value any of the TE’s very much – we may still trade up to take one in the fourth but apart from that it looks like special teams players and long-shots.
