Preparing for Disappointment...

Heres my gut feeling on how things will go in this draft...be prepared BGN...it could get ugly.

Knowshon will be drafted before spot 21.....

Eagles will not Draft Pettigrew(not that I am psyched about him anyway)

Eagles have an opportunity at 21 to draft Donald Brown at 21 but dont think hes worth it so they  trade down to the 2nd round to save some money and get an extra 3rd rounder...

By the time they are ready to pick in the 2nd round another team already takes brown.

Lesean Mccoy is their pick.

Andy Reid: "we always thought Lesean was the top back in the draft"

Between 2nd and 3rd round...Boldin gets traded to the Ravens for a 2nd round pick and todd heap. Eagles were reported to be right there but didnt want to give up a 2nd. They offered a 3rd and a 2nd in 2012...

Banner on Satellite: "We thought we made a fair offer for Boldin...."

Between the 3rd and 4th rounds Braylon edwards signs wiht the giants for a 2nd round pick. Eagles were reported to have offered a 3rd rounder.

Andy Reid: "There was some interest in Braylon but when Patrick Turner from USC slipped to the 4th round we knew he could give us the same type of big target as Braylon"

Between the 4th and 5th round Chad Johnson goes to the titans for a 4th rounder.

Eagles were reported to have offered two 5th round picks but again fall short.

Andy Reid: "We had some interest in Chad...hes a pro bowl wideout and that doesnt fit with what we like to do here, we enjoy having 5 number two receivers"

The Eagles at the end of day one and day two  wind up drafting one of the Tight ends that cant block to save his life and a bunch of largely unheard of safeties/corners and defensive lineman. and another unheard of  Wideout for good measure that will never make it onto the field.

Ugh

Why do you feel the need to write a negative post hours before the draft BEGINS? Nothing has happened yet. Chill. Delete this nonsense.

well...

its called watching the Eagles draft the last 15 years….they never NEVER do what we want as fans. Ever. I hope Im wrong but history says I am right.

"they never NEVER do what we want as fans"

Who the fuck cares what we want? They know better than we do. The last thing in the world I want is them listening to people like us.

well...

I dont necessarily mean us fans. I mean anyone and everyone who knows anything about football….former GM;s, Former players,—people who actually KNOW football. The eagles dont ever do what sometime seems like common sense…they do a good job with a lot of things obviously but there are some things the miss the boat on.

What I want usually changes when I see how good the guys I never heard of are anyway.

I try not to get too worked up over the draft, since I hardly follow college football. The Kevin Kolb draft made my head hurt, and while I think last year’s draft was good, trading out of the first round kind of ruins being at the draft party.

I’m not sure anything would shock me.

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

Didinger says...

Ray Didinger said on WIP that he is hearing the Eagles are very interested in Illinois CB Vontae Davis. Take it for what it is worth. Could be a smoke screen put out there by the Eagles, but I’d be very disappointed if that did happen.

ha

LOL at Vontae Davis….get ready to hear 10,000 boos if thats the case. UNLESS we trade sheldon for Anquan.

So far ...
Knowshon will be drafted before spot 21…..

… you’re spot on.

This draft has had a few curveballs so far, I mean the Redskins just backed into a good draft pick … maybe there’ll be something on the board for us that we can’t refuse.

If you smell trade down though, I don’t blame you.

If Donald Brown also goes before 21, then we’ve got issues.

(I want Pettigrew, but have a feeling they won’t take him)

as Expected...

Knowshon…GONE.
Although I didnt think he was going to go that early…
Would you guys take Beanie over Donald Brown if hese there ?
I think the Eagles are going to trade out of the pick now.

Wow, this has actually come really close so far!

I'm not ready to move on from #20.

by LeonSA on Apr 25, 2009 9:10 PM EDT reply actions

in retrospect...

The Eagles have done decent…The number 2 wideout in the draft and Mckoy.
Pretty good writeup here on Mckoy….this site had him ranked higher than Donald brown.
