Is this why Sheldon Brown is looking for a raise?

What Sheldon doesn't realize
is that with the recession and many people hurting financially he looks like an even bigger a-hole than he normally would. Also, Brown has been well-paid for since singing that contract and probably was over-paid when he first signed. He’s always been steady, never spectacular or a game-changing defensive player. Jason Peters had a legitimate gripe I believe. Sheldon doesn’t. He’s not a pro-bowl caliber corner, not even close. He’s not even a no. 1 corner back. To me, this is just sad. Still, the Eagles should by no means trade him.
He's absolutely pro bowl level
and i dont think Peters situation was much different to be honest.
What these players don’t realize is that the NFL means “not for long.” A lot of these guys end up BROKE as hell years after they’re out of football See:travis henry. Its a shame they dont get a financial adviser with all that money they make because they go from hero to zero real fast.

C’mon, you can’t use Travis Henry as an example… the dude has like 27 kids.

…must we go on?
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
Recession so players need to be sensitive but not Owners
Ironically it seems to me that we criticize those who ask for more money when the owner is now an official billionaire. Not to mention Brown sees the writing on the wall after Taylor, Harris, Vincent, Sheppard, and Dawkins. Get paid now since your cut at 32 when your contract goes above $4.
Peters situation is very similar. Plus Asante makes way, way more. And Asante cannot tackle. He dives at the ankles and hopes to trip guys. But he does have some rings.

This is just dumb Taylor played for one more year in Seattle and was released, Harris was traded for a second round pick (not bad for a guy we signed off waivers, Vincent left via free agency and never played at the same level, Sheppard forced his way out of town, and Dawkins took more money. Explain to me how this is seeing the writing on the wall. Not to mention Lito is only 28.

Come on...
He’s been an NFL starter for 6 years now. The guy can’t own a tricked-out RV?
It always sucks when dirty laundry gets aired, but if front offices can routinely do cold and calculating non-emotional business-not-personal stuff to players (See: Dawkins, Brian), then the players should have the right to do the same. We can criticize him for doing it in a bad way, but personal attacks are pretty uncalled for.
It was a fair deal when he signed it.
And it’s not like you see them paying players less than they’re guarantee. They don’t say, “well you’re guaranteed 10 million but you’re not very good so we’re only going to give you 5 million instead.” i mean i know they can cut players pre-contract but they still get paid.

You know when you go backwards and your head hits first and you wake up as if somebody baptized you or blessed you? I think that would be Runyan right there, all day, every day."
