good job
i was just about to post this
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
haha me too!
I think it could actually Help us in the draft since Denver probably won’t be looking at a WR or RB.
"Lets get one thing straight, the only reason you are conscious right now is because I don't feel like carrying you." - Jack Bauer
"Consequences, Schmonsequences, as long as I'm rich." - Daffy Duck
actually....
it just might be worth it. the bears never had stability at QB and now do. The guy is only 25. He will give the bears constant production for at least 6 to 7 years. I feel it is was a good trade. If they can get to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman behind shotgun, then what can they do with Culter. granted, he wont have the WR group he had at Denver, but they might be able to make something happen. I would pick them over the Vikings in their division
knowshon... Knowshon... KNOWSHON!!!!
yea
thats true this does put them over minnesota now. and maybe having cutler there could attract a decent reciever or 2 next year depending how cutler does.
well...
at least nobody will ever bring up trading mcnabb to chicago again.

DEF.
Those rumors can be put to bed, thankfully. Also glad this “mcjay gate” crap is over.
Although maybe it could have a lasted a couple more weeks closer to the draft. Now its gonna be back to the good ’ol wr rumors, which rb do we pick in the draft, and in what round are they selected.
"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

I think Broncos become a serious threat for Moreno in the draft now
by andyreidswaistline on Apr 2, 2009 6:36 PM EDT reply actions
they dont
they dont have any feature backs .. buck is aback up .. and jordan may get cut .. they have one young rb and he was injured last year .. so it makes a lot of sense

Lots of stop gaps, role player guys – Moreno is a feature back. If you’re going to wait to get your Franchise QB next year why not grab the feature back ahead of time?
Torain looked like he could be special but he had a big injury

Bears gave too much
2 1st rounders 1 3rd and Kyle Orton for Jay Cutler and a 5th?? Denver got the better of that deal. I would not have given that 3rd rounder. Even after this trade analysts are still saying Minnesota is the better team. Chicago still is not a SB contender. Their defense and special teams are not as good as they used to be and they dont have premier wideouts and OL like the Broncos had. Jay Cutler will not be that great in Chicago as he was in Denver. Good thing is the Redskins didnt get him. NFC East is already too competitive as it is.

agreed
two first rounders is a sick deal for just about anyone, especially a whiny player who was never going to play for you again.
i can understand the bears’ desperation for a qb though
If we gave up 1 first rounders for ANY WR in the league -- even FITZ
I would flip shit!
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
I would give...
one 1st rounder for Fitz or Andre Johnson in a heartbeat. Not two 1st rounders though. I believe a 1st rounder is a must for a young Superstar wideout.

what!
dude get out of here .. cutlers a stud ..if roy williams is worth it .. than cutler deffantly .. stop calling the kid a whiny player .. he didnt want to play for the team after they turned their back on him .. you dont try to trade your all pro young qb whos better than cassel will ever be .. they got what they deserved .. hes worth the two first .. he makes them a playoff team .. hester will actually be a decent wr with this kids arm

Well.
I think Cutler is very talented and has all the tools to succeed. Do I think it’s worth it? For the right team? Yeah he is. Chicago is one of those fence teams that it could go either way for. Cutler is the first legitamate franchise qb they’ve had in a long time. So yeah, I think banking on him is not such a crazy move. The fact that the offer was so high shows that there was a lot of competition for him. The third round pick was more or less the deal maker. A franchise qb is hard to come by. To get a good 5-8 years from a qb is beautiful thing. The team should invest a pick in a WR this year to grow along side with Cutler there. Hester showed he could be a force last year but aside from him I can really think of another good WR on that team. They are a scary team if they play like I think they might. Think about it Two great TEs, Forte, and Hester plus if they add another WR threat they could make a splash this season.
All that said, Cutler has a crummy attitude. Neither side, Cutler or the Organization was the victim here. They were both at fault.
i dont think so
your 100 percent rite on the first part .. good stuff .. but its more the broncos fault .. your new coach comes in and trys to trade your franchise qb for his old qb . .thats why he got mad .. i would be too .. jay cutler was thinking im the man .. i had a amazing season .. this is my team .. and you come in and do that .. i wouldnt play for him either..

hmm...
lets see the bears havent had a really good QB in what like 30 years ? And you think its a bad idea to trade 2 1st round picks, a 5th and Kyle lame ass orton ? for a pro bowl caliber QB whos 25 ? Puh-leez. Both teams made out and I look for the bears to contend in the NFC now…they certainly werent going to before.
Interesting trade. The Bears have been making due with mediocre QBs for a long time now, so kudos to them for doing what they needed to do to improve themselves (even if the price was on the steep side). This is another of those situations where if he takes Chicago deep into the playoffs or to the Super Bowl, they look like geniuses. If they go 6-10, they look like asses. There won’t be any in-betweens on this one.
Exactly
The results will judge the trade. If the Bears win, it’s great for them. If they don’t, it’s a disaster.
I think either way it’s pretty bad for Denver. They’ll have to scramble to find a starting QB.
Suffice to say, Denver won’t be very scary when they visit the Linc this year.
I think it's a great deal for Denver
While Kyle Orton is no Jay Cutler, he’s a serviceable starter and I thought he had a pretty good season last year. So I think Orton can at least do an okay job in Denver. Now, the Broncos got a ton of great picks and they can start filling in the holes in the defense. Plus, it gives them the freedom to move around the draft freely as they see fit just like the Eagles. Ultimately in the long run, I think Denver comes out on the better end of the deal.
hes gonna be a top 5 qb for the next 9 years. i think there wr list is piss poor, but having a qb for 9 years for chicago is massively important. at the same missing out on 2 first round picks is seriously tough, i dont know much about there d, but it might struggle after a couple years and booms, you’re 8-8 because of a shoot out between teams.
We will see.....
how good Cutler really is. We know he has a rocket arm but Denver had a great O-line inlcuding the best LT in the game right now Ryan Clady. Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal were his wideouts. And he was on a team that passed even more than Andy Reid. He does throw a shitload of INTs but i wont take anything away from him cuz of that since he is 13-1 when the defense holds the opponent under 21 pts. He will certainly be working with a lot less of an offense than Denver, thats for sure.

NOT A GOOD DEAL FOR DENVER NOW
THE DENVER BRONCOS HAVE CHANGED DRAMATICLY. AS MUCH AS THE BEARS DID FOR THE BETTER THE BRONCOS HAVE CHANGED FOR THE WORSE. THEY WILL LOSE NEXT YEAR AND WILL TAKE A FRANCISE BUILDING TO BRING THEM ANYWHERE NEAR WHAT THEY HAD IN THE LAST DECADE. THE BEARS WILL WIN NEXT YEAR. THIS DEAL IS A NO BRAINER FOR CHICAGO. NOW IM NOT COMPLAINING BC DENVER, WHO PICKS IN FRONT OF THE EAGLES WILL NOW PICK A QB AND THE BEAR WHO OBVIOUSLY NEED A WR ALSO PICK IN FRONT OF US. SO LETS HOPE THE EAGLES DRAFT A RB WITH THE 21ST PICK. AND THEY WILL PICK THE BEST MAN ON THE BOARD AT 28. NOT TRADING AWAY 21 OR 28. WE CAN WIN BIG WITH A STUD RUNNING BACK. DONT RULE OUT A CORNERBACK AT 28.
