Is anyone else GIDDY about next season now?

Sure, Jason Peters IS NOT the sexy trade that most us hoped for (Boldin or Edwards) but we potentially have one of the best, if NOT the best offensive lines in the league right now. Peters is a top 5 tackle, Andrews is a top 5 guard, Herremanes is a borderline pro bowler, and when Andrews is healthy he is also borderline pro bowl. Perhaps Nick Cole and Jackson can get some GOOD competition going and hopefully one of those guys gets a fire lit under his ass.

Do any of you remember the Chiefs early on in the decade? They had a top flight offense with two of the most mediocre WRs out there -- Eddie Kennison and Johnnie Morton.  Priest Holmes was at RB (who was good, don't get me wrong) but their O-line was just staright up nasty. Two HOF tackles and a pro bowl guard -- I admit -- they were FUN to watch.

I have the same feeling about our line going into the season. However, our line can POTENTIALLY be that good with BETTER skill players. I think McNabb is slightly better than Trent Green in his prime, and Westbrook, overall, is better than Priest.Obviously, I'm way more partial about our WR corps than the Chiefs.

Factor that in with a pro bowl FB who can run and catch, I'm getting really giddy at the the potential... Screw another WR, let's get that solid TE and go to war!

To be honset

I’m probably the LAST person to board the Knowshon train, but all things considered, I wouldn’t be opposed. It really might come down to who’s the best player on the board when we’re up.

I can't wait for 2009 to begin.

Peters is an AllPro. How can you complain in getting that caliber of a player. We should just trade our 1st and 3rd round picks to Arizona and get Boldin so we have a solid #1 WR. We can get the RB we need to pound short yardage as a bruiser in the 2nd round. RB’s are typically over-rated in college when they come from big programs.

We HAVE solid WRs

So I don’t know if I want to give up that much for Boldin. We have Weaver and it doesn’t matter who is behind center if the line is good… The fact that you need “a bruiser” is absolutely a myth. I think the Giants proved that last year when Ward got most of the 3rd and short carries.

we still have a bunch of smallish wide receivers.

not that they aren’t good…..but we still need a viable red zone threat. it could be a drafted TE or WR. but i’m not convinced anyone drafted this year will come in and make an immediate impact. the idea of more balance is definitely nice though.

I believe that Shawn & Stacey Andrews plus Peters will have a dramatic effect in the red zone.

I agree

Also add Weaver to that mix.

OPTIMISM GROWING FOR ME!

I feel good about next season. We can’t let the Giants get BOldin. If we don’t I just hope the Giants or Bears don’t get him. Maybe Kansas City will help us out. He’s (Boldin) a #1 WR that’s physical and big….something we desperately need. There’s no one on the draft board like that.

i was just betting my whole family who are all locked up on the phillies at the moment. telling them is our year, cause i truely feel it. i really think we hav ethe best set of lines in the league, between offense and defense. and to tell you the truth i think were gonna have the best graded draft day.

Yeah at this point

I have way too much excitement about this year. I’ve literally had dreams about the Eagles the last 2 nights.

Giddy ...

… is a good way to describe it, yeah.

Of course, we still have the draft, mini-camps and training camp first, so I’m trying to contain it :)

Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring It Home For Jerome
