- Longtime voice of the Eagles Merrill Reese commented on the passing of longtime voice of the Phils and his friend, Harry Kalas.
"When you think of Harry, you think of the great, resonant voice, the great home run calls. When you think of Harry Kalas, you think of the legends - Vin Scully, Harry Caray, Jack Brickhouse. He belongs right in that group, announcers as big as or bigger than the players they cover."
- The NFL releases its 2009/2010 schedule tonight at 7pm live on NFL network. Be sure to check out BGN for a live blog of the event. NFL senior VP for media operations Howard Katz is in charge of crafting the schedule.
"This is one of the most complicated and complex things I've ever been involved with. You're trying to serve 37 different masters - the 32 individual teams and the five networks. Everybody's lobbying and their interests aren't always consistent. So what we've got to do is look at how we can produce the best overall schedule from a league perspective that is fairest for all of the teams and is as fair as we can make it for our [television] partners."
