Eagles fans react to PFT Mock Draft
So I looked for the mock draft thread, but this place is so alive with fanposts its either buried or I'm just dumb and I missed it.
Anyway, was checking out the second half of the ProFootballTalk.com mock draft that was posted today. Has us taking Beanie Wells at 21 and William Beatty at 28. RB & OT is pretty on-point, but I felt inspired to post because here at BGN we've pretty well broken down six ways to Sunday why Wells is not really the fit for the Eagles that the other first-round RBs are.
Turns out there was no need for me to chime in. About five of the first seven posts were Eagles fans ripping the picks, with fairly decent reasoning too. You would've thought it was an Eagle-centric post.
Just thought I'd mention. Sometimes yous guys make me so proud.

We won't take Wells
but I could live with the second part of that, even though I’d still rather have Knowshon or DBrown with the 21st more than Boldin

I agree with the second pick. It would be a great pick, but wells? (explicit. explicit. explict). Does jack make this draft?
knowshon... Knowshon... KNOWSHON!!!!
no, he couldn't have...
if it was him, he would have traded asante and both first round picks for t.o. and peters
You ever see this show ...
… called ‘You can’t do that on television,’ where the Dad would be like ’doooooon’t encourage your mother!"
That’s how I feel right about now.
Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring It Home For Jerome

Why does everyone hate on Wells so much?
Before anyone starts giving me shit, i just want you all to know that I want the eagles to pick whoever is best for our team. Im fine with wells or moreno. Most of you think wells is injury prone and cant catch. He was only out 3 games due to a foot injury his whole college career. So scratch injury prone off your list. Second, the Buckeyes rarely throw to their running back. He may not catch as well as moreno but there werent exactly many throws thrown his way. I dont want this to start an argument over who is better because im not even going to respond. I just posted a few highlight reels of each player below to open up your eyes a little bit. Wells is a very good running back. He deserves some credit. Hopefully after watching them, you wont think its the end of the world just incase we did draft the guy.

Moreno
He's not an eagles RB
Neither is Moreno… I can’t wait to the draft is over so I don’t have to hear about either of the two anymore!!
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!

I agree Wells is a very good RB, and I’ve been fighting the injury prone people for awhile now to no avail. I just don’t think he fits the system in general, and I’ve been brainwashed by anuj so Knowshon it is.
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
wells doesn't block, either
moats and hunt lost their chance at playing because they couldn’t handle the mental aspects of the position playing under andy and marty’s system.
wells only job at ohio state was to line up, get handed the ball and run. with the eagles, he’ll have to pick up the blitz and catch the ball as often as he takes the handoff. not sure he’ll be able to catch on and so we wont be getting the skills out of him that we need from our RBs.
he’d be a great RB for someone like denver who only really asks their backs to run the ball, but not in philly. there’s too much risk that he wont/cant catch on and we’ll be misappropriating talent.

ID TAKE BEANIE WELLS ANYDAY.
HE THROWS 275 LBS PENN STATE LINEBACKERS TO THE GROUND. RUNS AROUND MICHICAN CB LIKE THEY WERE GIRLS. FINISHES EVERY RUN WITH A PUNCH KICK OR SHOULDER. LET WESTBROOK CATCH THE BALL. THIS GUY IS GONNA BE IN THE RUNNING FOR ROOKIE OF THE YEAR….BET

I'm Convinced!
Not because I read this comment, I didn’t, but simply because of a few things.
1. The entire message being in caps
2. the pure intensity that comes with the name “STRAIGHTOYOURFACE”
3. The fact that said name is also in all caps

Seriously??
What about Golden Gophers DEs or Boilermaker safeties?? C’mon, there is a huge difference between Big Ten and NFL defenses. While he may look intimidating in college football, he is going to get beat up by NFL defenses. Why do you think the shelf life of RBs in the NFL is so low?? It’s great that he runs hard but how effective is this guy going to be in an NFL game? With the exception of ADP, any rookie RB that has been successful in the NFL in the last 5 years has been a back with moves and abilities more similar to Knowshon’s.
