Something we don't do at BGN
While viewing other SBN blogs it dawned at me that we BGN bloggers RARELY use the "rec" (recommended post) button. For those of you that don't know, if the post gets enough rec's it will be filed at the very top of the fan posts, neatly segregated from the rest of the fan posts.
Some, but not all of us, get tired of the lack of the quality posts that end up in the fan posts. If you're one of those guys, let's start "rec-ing" the quality posts so every time we browse there will be a nice neat pile of quality fan posting whether it be some good up-to-date Eagles info or of some other high value. The stuff that belongs at the bottom, can now stay there ;)
This may have been the fix that we've been lookig for.

how many rec’s does it take for something to stay at the top?

I don’t even know, I don’t think we’ve ever gotten enough rec’s on a post to find out…….Let’s find out :)

haha, that's why i rec'd this...just for the sake of science
the most i’ve seen something rec’d is three or at the very most 4, but nothing ever changed…
i like the idea though…hopefully it works

if a comment gets rec’d enough it should change color to make it stand out too.

one thing about the comments,
Not sure everyone realizes that if you hit the “actions” link to the right of the Username, you’ll fine the “flag/rec” choices…

and hitting the up button takes you to the original message being replied to.

suggesting that they should change the color.

Have a built in way to keep GOOD posts active. I am not sure why more people don’t REC any of the posts that they want to keep active so they don’t drop down. I am not sure what the rule is on this site, but the site I came from always moved any post with 3 rec’s or more to the top automatically so they can stay active.

I didn’t want to make a new fanpost for this, but I can if you guys think it’s necessary. I’d rather keep it all in this topic.
1) If you just want to post a link, a quote, or a video, make a fanshot. There’s very few things more annoying than when someone posts a Fanpost with a bunch of filler text because you can’t come up with any worthwhile input.
2) Look around for similar posts before posting info or speculation. We don’t need 400 threads about why we do or don’t need Braylon Edwards or Anquan Boldin or what the hell ever. If we keep it all in one thread, the quality of the discussion will be better and there will be less crap to sift through looking for the good info. As an added bonus, people won’t have to constantly repeat themselves, and people won’t complain about repeated posts!
3) Post counting is stupid. Don’t race into a topic to say “FIRST!” or you will be mocked and ridiculed. If you say any other number (or worse, you post “FIRST!” and you’re not), you will be mocked and ridiculed harder.
4) Troll at your own risk. Chances are someone’s better at it than you, and you’ll be made to look really stupid.
I am the people's troll :3™

I LOVE BGN because it's intelligent
I was often on the Eagles website looking at Spadaro’s articles…and more than half of the inevitable 400+ comments are ALWAYS about receivers. There are people begging us to send both firsts, a second, and a third to get Crabtree. The feeling there is that we are one WR away from a superbowl…it’s clear that we here disagree with that, it’s just interesting to see how emotional people get over their particular assessment of need.
How close are we to a superbowl? With the draft kids, we’re right there, it’s just execution after that. There are a few positions we’ll upgrade, and there’s always upgrading to do…but we’re as good on paper and on the field as any team in this league.
