Springs Just In Town To Kick The Tires...
Looks like he was just in town to feel around. It seems as if he would be receptive to assuming a safety role if need be by his comments. He may have gotten the Eagles' take and is still holding out to see if there's a better offer out there. Your guess is as good as mine right now as to what happens next.

Seriously?? Springs would have been a great candidate to help our now-butchered secondary. I’m ready to see some moves! How about Jabari Greer?
I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not.
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
depends what they’re looking to do. both greer and springs missed significant time last year and produced similar numbers
Jabari Greer, Buffalo Bills
Season Totals: 47 attempts, 5.81 YPA, 42.55 Forced INC%, 2 TDs, 2 INTs
Shawn Springs, Washington Redskins
Season Totals: 31 attempts, 5.16 YPA, 32.26 Forced INC%, 1 TD, 1 INT
however, Greer is about an inch shorter and 30 pounds lighter. if they’re looking for more of a FS role here, stick with Springs… again, depends on what exactly they’re looking to accomplish
"I tried to run him over but Eli had his big boy pads on and he kind of stopped me from getting in the end zone. The next time I’ll try to jump over his head.’’ - Asante Samuel
True, but Greer is 27 whereas Springs will be 34 in a few days. I’d think the Birds would rather go with a younger guy nowadays. Then again, it’d be cool seeing Springs as a FS, seems like he would be a better fit. However, they could also sign Greer as a #2 and move Sheldon over to FS. Can’t wait to see what their plans are.
It’s more likely they are looking for depth at Safety … with Asante/Brown/Hanson/Ikegwuonu we can draft a CB later and be okay with depth there. We need at least 1 proven player to back up Demps/Mikell

as i said, depends on plans… if the idea is to get a patch at FS and give demps another year, then i could deal with Springs with a decent contract for a year or so… lots of possibilities

meh ...
it would have made sense but I’m indifferent. He could still sign here.

Apparently.
They want Springs to play safety.
