Knowshon Moreno of Georgia-5'11 217- is a given. He didn't test well at the combine but, "youtube" his name and check his stats from this past season. He also had the advantage of playing in a pro style offense while at Georgia playing alongside Matt Stafford.
He's elusive, the ball sticks to him when he makes the catch, he does the little things you look for. He doesn't avoid contact either. He will try to run , around or jump over you. He's also a local kid from New Jersey. He's a leader on the field and shows tons of emotion, which it seems everyone around feeds off of.
Lesean McCoy of Pittsburgh- 5'10 198-He was highly touted coming out of high school but suffered an injury which scared off some top schools. Nonetheless he made the most of his career at PITT-He gained 2,816 yards and 35 touchdowns rushing while adding 65 receptions for 549 yards. He was twice named first-team All-Big East.
If you "youtube" or google some video he makes some insanely quick cuts and is fast as hell, almost looking like a pinball. He needs to be a little more patient when setting up his blockers. He also excels as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Needs to work on getting those tough yards and also needs to work on ball control.
Chris Wells of Ohio State-6'1 235- I'm not going to get into. He seems lazy and soft. He also is very limited in the passing game, we all know if you're in the Eagles offense and your a RB, you have to be able to catch the ball. Injury prone? Questionable heart and motivation? He wont last 5 mins in Philly.
Donald Brown of UCONN- 5"10 210-I have to say he's the best RB you may have never heard of. He was the countrie's leading rusher with, 2083 yds and 18 TD's.He tested well at the combine and has managed to silence some doubters. Another local kid from New Jersey also.
He's compact, has great vision, great hands and is a natural born leader on the field. But, he's a little narrow and might not be able to add much more bulk. He has great speed but seems to get caught from behind. Wanna see more "youtube" or "Google" Donald Brown vs. Virginia (206 yds, 3 TD's, 32 yds rec).
If the Eagles wanna wait to take a Brown he might be there with their 2nd Rd pick. But if they target him, my guess would be to trade down from their #28 pick, then take him. Just a few spots, not too many. While using the number their #21 pick on a OT, TE or WR. Come on Birds' fans you know the trade down is coming at least once this year. :)
Other RB's in the later rds-
Shonn Greene-Iowa-5'10 227-Big and physical but has Character issues and is limited in the passing game, don't bother Eagles fans.
Glenn Coffee-Alabama-6'0 209-Can run it and catch it, but a one year wonder?
Andre Brown-NC St.-6'0 224-Good all purpose back, has power and finesse, but sometimes doesnt play to his timed speed. Runs upright, and has had foot problems.
Javon Ringer-Michigan St.-5'9 205-Was a workhorse for the Spartans most of his career and has the injuries to show for it. Catches the ball and runs it well. But, isnt as fast as you would think. Has a history of knee and foot problems.
Rashad Jennings-Liberty-6'1 231-Transferred from PITT to live closer to his father who has diabetes. A bruiser with quick feet and runs through all the arm tackles. He catches the ball nicely also. Needs to work on his blocking, for a bigger back he doesn't do it very well. I wouldnt be surprised if the Eagles gambled on him in rds 4-5 either if they pass on a RB early.
