Cornelius Ingram invited next week for a private workout
Cornelius Ingram, tight end prospect out of Florida, will perform a private workout for the Eagles next week.
Ingram impressed scouts at Florida’s pro day in Gainesville, running a 4.5 forty yard dash while measuring up at 6′4″ and 246 pounds. Ingram is coming off knee surgery.
According to Michael Dirocco of the Florida Times-Union, Ingram impressed many scouts with his workout and never dropped a pass.

Drew Rosenhaus is Ingrams agent
i didnt realize this part is this a good or bad thing ? dam how many clients does Rosenhaus have anyway ? safe to say hes not poor …
When I look at this team, I still don't feel as though we are very far away, we still have to work hard and do the things we are capable of, but we do have the chance to get back and come back strong." -Brian Westbrook-
Scouting report
Strengths:
Outstanding athleticism…Very good speed and quickness…Excellent ball skills and body control…Soft hands…Terrific leaper…Good focus and is able to make the difficult catch…Adequate height with the frame to add more weight…Runs well after the catch…Can get up the seam and stretch the field vertically…Competitive…Still has a ton of upside.
Weaknesses:
Doesn’t have the ideal bulk that you look for…Not a polished route runner…Isn’t very tough or physical…Needs to get stronger…Has a long (long) way to go as a blocker, especially in-line…Doesn’t like contact…Durability is a concern…Awfully inexperienced…A ’tweener?
Notes:
Began his college career as a quarterback and redshirted in 2004…Saw playing time as a guard for the Gator basketball team during the 2004-05 season…Was moved to wide receiver / tight end during the 2005 season and seriously contemplated quitting the team…Started two games in 2006 before really emerging as a key cog in the Gators high-powered offense as a junior…Was named 2nd Team All-SEC in 2007…Considering going pro early but opted to return to Gainesville for his senior year…Tore the ACL in his left knee during a 7-on-7 drill in practice last August and missed the entire 2008 season…Also being looked at as an H-Back…A mismatch waiting to happen and in many ways he’s a wideout in a tight end’s body…One-dimensional and very raw but could be a dynamic pass catching threat.
cool report jason very interesting. running a 4.5 forty yard dash while measuring up at 6′4″ and 246 pounds after coming off knee surgery [ torn ACL] hmm interesting as well..

You may be onto something

thats what i was worrying about
To me the Eagles are like that girlfriend that pisses u off, then u hate her, but the next morning you wake up and remember that thing u love so much about her

Private Workouts
I don’t think we have page or rolling list of players the Eagles have had private workouts with. I heard Patrick Chung (Safety) and Andy Levitre (OL) interviewed on NFL radio over the past couple weeks and they said they had private workouts with the Eagles. Levitre sounds like the prototypical guy Andy Reid looks for in an OL.

Blocker?
Here goes our blocker needs again! The guys sounds athletic but I would say Celek already plays that part. We need a bigger TE that can focus on the blocking to further our run game and protect Dmac.
On a positive note, “outstanding athleticism, terrific leaper and makes the difficult catch” all sound like a potential red zone threat.
I still vote for brining in a more well rounded TE.
Good stuff eagleman71
Do we really need another player coming off knee surgery??
The eagles will release a player thats getting older but will sign a bunch of players with terrible knees. Real smart. The only player with bad knees id want to bring back is runyan.
so your ok with an old tackle with a knee surgery that has a low percentage of coming back to form given his age, but not a TE with a knee surgery that has a high percentage of getting everything back with his age? Runyan would be infinately more of a risk than this kid
+1

yeah but runyan has proven he can play. This kid has nothing but combine numbers.
I love runyan and im hoping he heals well because if he does, he will most likely resign with us for a big pay cut. Its not a risk either since we just signed andrews (although he has knee problems too). Looks like the eagles are looking for a sleeper at TE. I havent seen a TE in this draft worth while beside pettigrew.
i think both ingram and shawn nelson would be good bets. Nelson really impressed me during snr bowl practice. i think with some technique he could be a good blocker. As nfl network guys said he was very willing and attacked the incoming defend. I have a feeling some extra time with juan castillo working on technique that this kid could handle a blitz pick up without a problem. from what i ahve seen i like nelson the best (assuming pettigrew goes before our pick) and i think he could be a real value if he falls to us in the 3rd. it just haunts me that as i said before i have heard a few analysts say that without the knee injury ingram would be the number 1 TE in this draft without question.
He sounds like another combine hero
Doesn’t like contact , weak, and can’t block well… No thank you!

ha ha dude your funny
he will perform a private workout for the Eagles whether you like it or not , they must see something in him that you dont -to want a closer look at him ,but thats why they run the show and you dont , in your own words trust in the FO right joe – ha ha

waste
of a pick unless this kid is taken in the 4th…
"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

Play college basketball
Like a few of other tight ends I know- Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Marcus Pollard, come to mind.
