Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Interested? Also, is it me or is there are larger than normal amount of future hall of fame/synonymous with their team players changing teams this year?

Not really. We’re obviously on a mission to get younger.

Nope

my thoughts exactly.

while Holt isnt necessarily an ‘elite’ reciever anymore, he can still be a very productive player in the right setting. I think Philadelphia definitely would be a good fit for him he wouldnt have to be the star, he would just be another talented reciever the defense would have to account for. I know he isnt necessarily an “upgrade” over anyone we already have, but he would certainly upgrade our recievers as a whole.

What if that would allow us to get Tony Gonzalez and/or Jason Peters?
Would Torry Holt and Tony Gonzalez be enough of an upgrade on offense to placate McNabb?
We’d probably be able to keep both of our first round picks.
Torry Holt would give the Eagles 3 solid “#2” wide receivers with Jackson on the cusp of becoming Steve Smith light. Avant and Basket are solid #3’s. No one who commands double coverage, but no one who can be ignored either.
I like it.

Not interested.

if he was still a top tier WR then they wouldn’t have released him. IF the eagles were to sign him he’d be nothing more than a possession WR.

Yes his skills are declining but I doubt that is the sole reason why he was released. He’s still a good player. The Rams are rebuilding. They want to get younger and free up some cap space. Same reason Pace is gone, me thinks.
