The day after, it would not be stretching to say Dawk sounded like he had regrets -- buyer's remorse, at the very least.
"In a couple of weeks or a month, I'll be excited about this team," Dawkins said. "I've got to get used to saying that -- I'm a Bronco." Then he paused. "I'll tell you one thing -- I'll always be an Eagle."
Then he paused again, and excused himself.

Id love for him to be wearing a eagles tshirt under his broncos jersey when we play them next year
"If they end up 2-14 and both of those wins came against Dallas, that's a pretty good year."

No one can take this
Let’s just trade our 4th rounder to Denver to get him back

while we’ll all remember the sting of losing dawkins, in the long run his legacy will always be as a philadelphia eagle. think about it…10 years from now most people will never remember that emmit smith finished his career with the cardinals, brett favre with the jets, and the list goes on and on. 10-15 years from now when people reflect on brian dawkins’ legacy and his hall of fame credentials, chances are nobody will remember the 2 or so years he plays in Denver

Don't forget Bruce Smith in a Redskins jersey.
Not since 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Bruce Smith has the NFL seen a player so dominant at his position.

Unbelievable
The only thing worse than Dawkins becoming a Bronco is the possibility that he could fly through our O-line and sack Mcnabb this season. Just saying that absolutely blows my mind. I wouldn’t know what to think…….sad time for Eagles fans to say the least.

Although it would be bittersweet to see Desean Jackson sprinting past him for a long TD…

If Dawkins if responsible for D-Jax
You can chalk up the Denver game as a win for the home team.
Love Dawkins, obviously, but if the Eagles don’t send receivers at him early and often I’ll be surprised. The Eagles are exactly the kind of team that can kill Dawkins now – early release, lots of passing. Reid can use McNabb to push the offense downfield and take away the matchups at the LOS.

Maybe there is regret
His decision could only have been about a.) money or b.) sticking it to the front office for not appreciating what he perceived his worth to be.
Denver didn’t make the playoffs, had a horrible defense last year and probably don’t figure to be more successful than the Eagles in the immediate future (although you can’t say that for sure). So what does he get out of this?
by ajay on Mar 1, 2009 8:34 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I would love it if he came on a blitz and had a clean shot at Mcnabb….then promptly put on the breaks and decided to miss juuuust to the right.

I’ve been trying to avoid actually seeing or hearing anything Dawk had to say about what happened. Reading that just kinda fucked me up…. Greatest. Eagle. Ever. Period…

My tribute picture and -BRIAN DAWKINS- quote

My first and foremost goal is to win a Super Bowl. I also set goals in terms of having a type of year to make the Pro Bowl. If I’m going to the Pro Bowl, I know I’m making plays for the team." Brian Dawkins
When I look at this team, I still don't feel as though we are very far away. I think for us to get close, we still have to work hard and do the things we are capable of, but we do have the chance to get back and come back strong." -Brian Westbrook-

Dawkins gear
I went shopping on the Eagles website’s store looking for a Dawkins car magnet and they have NO DAWKINS GEAR at all. Not even his option under players. Do you think they pulled all his merchandise? And does any one know where I can get that car magnet?
by Annapolis Eagle on Mar 2, 2009 8:21 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
If they had a Dawkins one before, they might have it at the Eagles’ outlet in Lancaster, PA. That’s kind of a hike for you, but I know they always have the jerseys of departed players on sale. Here’s the info if you want to call.

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

I called and no Dawk magnet. Someone needs to manufacture this.

Find me a picture and I’m 99% sure I can make that happen.
by BMY on Mar 2, 2009 5:49 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
ok
It could be as simple as the Eagles logo car magnet that is out now and some how putting his name and number on it. Or a helmut with “Dawkins 20” . Or pulling a picture off the internet of his jersey. Or I’ll get you a photo somehow. If you make it, I will buy! I’d love to see cars on the highway honoring BDawk. What do you think? I wonder if there some type of copyright restricting this.
by Annapolis Eagle on Mar 2, 2009 6:19 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
There are copyright issues but I’ll worry about that. I’ll come up with something sometime this week and run it by you guys.
