Things are quiet..
Way to quiet from our FO. Aside from Andrews, we have only lost players and have brought none in. To be third in the most salary cap space, we have done relatively nothing. Now we have 1 rb, a hole in FS, no new WR to help us, and we lost the heart of our team. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with our FO?

Relax
The FO has always been tight lipped. They have a plan. I guarantee they are not just sitting around with their thumbs up their asses. We’ll be OK.
We have a group of good, young players. We have a few first day draft picks. Be patient. Things will happen.

I agree...
… though it’s maddening to sit here and not know anything.
But judging an offseason from the first 36 hours of free agency is what Redskins fans do.
It’s like calling a winner after the first drive of the first quarter. We’re down a touchdown. But lots of time left.

I really don't think we're down
We signed the highest rated tackle in free agency. What did we lose besides Dawkins?
Buck – I like him but we didn’t use him. He can be replaced.
Considine – A backup and special teams guy. We lose depth, but that’s it.
Lito – Fell out of favor and wasn’t playing.
LJ – Celek started ahead of him so again we lose depth.
There are still some questions, for sure. Like what happens with Tra Thomas. One thing about Andy is that he likes his lineman, so I think we’ll be OK there.
Our FO can be frustrating at times but they get it right most of the time. We have to keep the faith.

And LJ
is really addition by subtraction.

That’s funny, I did the same breakdown and used the same phrase (“addition by subtraction”) on another thread.
I don’t think it’s 0-0 though.
Our FO can be frustrating at times but they get it right most of the time.
Agree completely. MRPH, I’m definitely not one of the people who is panicking. I didn’t really foresee Dawkins leaving, and that one hurts from a morale/PR/leadership standpoint, but all the other guys’ departures were expected.
Among what we lost, if it’s not addition by subtraction, all but Dawk are replaceable by the start of next season. And play-wise, a less-talented FS who’s good in coverage and decent in run support would work in place of Dawk. It’s not like our remaining D is garbage.
I like the Andrews signing. And I think a second RB (Derrick Ward, or even a LaMont Jordan), a TE and an FB and a couple safeties, and I’d be OK. Even if we don’t get the sexy move a lot of our fans crave, we are in good shape to compete. And we probably will get some sort of move.

A positive...
way to look at this is that we had a really good, positive young team last year. A lot of people stepped it up last year, and I fully expect them to reach an even higher level this year. If you look at our offense and defense, we have 19 out of 22 starters returning, and we signed stacy andrews, who I see as an upgrade. I feel we are looking good. If we make a trade at another key posistion, we are golden. We lost my favorite athlete of all time. But if it weren’t for that I would be feeling pretty good.
