Kellen Winslow JR

Listening to 610WIP, Anthony Gargano made some calls to the Cleveland Browns to find out the price tag on Winslow. It is reported that the Browns have said that the price tag is a 2nd round pick and a player or a 2nd round pick and a 3rd round pick. You could probably get away with a 2nd and a 4th. If we are not able to get Pettigrew in the first round, i would make the trade. Celek is great but no one can argue that Winslow is proven to be better.

Durability

I would like a TE like Winslow too, but the fact is he’s becoming less durable. This season he only played 10 games, and only started in 8 of them. I don’t think I would trade away our draft picks for him IMHO

i may be wrong but wasn’t he out for a couple of games for a staph infection? If that is the case i wouldn’t say he is becoming “less durable”. I may be wrong though.

WRONG

Multiple staph infection

by NickPampani on Feb 19, 2009 5:24 PM EST up reply actions

don’t know if you can blame him for that one…

by eagleyosh on Feb 19, 2009 5:50 PM EST up reply actions

well, thinking about it, you can probably blame him for the second one, cause more than likely he thought he was better and stopped taking him antibiotics leaving some bacteria (and the hard to kill ones at that) in his body. they probably then multiplied, making him sick again. but hey, can’t blame a football player for not understanding that he had to take all of his antibiotics…their job is just to catch a ball, not treat staph

by eagleyosh on Feb 19, 2009 5:52 PM EST up reply actions

sorry to reply to myself so many times

but looking at when he had it (separated by a few years) means it probably had nothing to do with finishing his antibiotics and everything to do with browns staph ridden facilities.

by eagleyosh on Feb 19, 2009 6:53 PM EST up reply actions

thats why he got flamed because he spoke out about how the Browns didn’t take care of their business and that is why he kept getting sick and others have too. You can’t blame the staph infections on him.

you cant blame Winslow for the staph infections

The Cleveland facilities have had the problem for years, he has not been the only Brown to get this disease multiple times. It is not his fault, for some reason staph seems to be all over athletic facilities in Cleveland, including my high school

haha

my high school football team had an outbreak of it too

To me the Eagles are like that girlfriend that pisses u off, then u hate her, but the next morning you wake up and remember that thing u love so much about her

Hes an ass

remember his college quote after Miami lost to Tennasee when he hurt an opposing player- knew it, taunted him on the field while he was down and then afterwards infront of all the cameras when asked about it started to scream “Im a soldier, Im a f***in soldier”

he's an ass?

THIS IS FOOTBALL SON
i like toughness as long as he’s not hurting our players

by Manoovi on Feb 20, 2009 2:24 PM EST up reply actions

son?

no kidding we want tough guys, but no dubm asses. Our defence is packed with tough guys, no one draws attention for that kind of stuff. I played college ball and anyone else who did would be a liar if they said they wouldnt personaly injure an opposing player on purpose to help the team.- doesnt mean you brag about it to cameras afterwards, thats locker room talk. But to have somone in the media like that we dont ned it. We havent been like that, were not that team- pads do the talking. Who doesnt like toughness, thats a gimme. Look at Dawkins bodyslamming Wide outs, does he talk about killing them afterwards? leave it on the field

Soldier or not, he'd be one hell of an Eagle

Kellen Winslow Jr. would and could be the smartest move by the Eagles for now and the future. He’s a young, talented player with soft hands and solid blocking skills. He has the attitude of a fierce competitor and would be a threat down field, especially in the red-zone.

You could argue that he resembles a young Gonzo. Speaking of, Gonzo would be a great fit for McNizzle for the rest of their careers.

I doubt Mangini trades Winslow in his first year as coach he’s going to need him. I would definitely take him though.
