Hi Everybody!

Hi, Dr. Nick Foos!
Well, I’m not really a doctor per se, but we can all have ambitions, right? Jason has given me the opportunity to jump into the driver’s seat and steer the BGN bus a bit. For those of you who have been here for awhile, you probably know me well by now. For those of you who don’t know me all that well, I’m a diehard Eagles fan (obviously the reason I’m a part of this community) from Scranton that’s been fortunate enough to be able to call BGN home for quite a while now. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of my time here, have had a great experience with everyone in the BGN family, and have read some exceptional posts (and have been part of a few myself) during my time here. I will now do my little part to help bring that same sense of community and fun to everyone.
Aside from lending a hand with the latest, and hopefully greatest, Eagles news available, I am eager to start a few posting series that I’m hoping you guys will be excited about. The aim of these series is to not only bring you some really good Eagles knowledge, but to also give you more great posts during the downtime that is the offseason. First, I’m going to roll out some posts that will be part of a Football 101 Series. Let’s face it; no one knows everything about offensive, defensive, and special teams schemes, so I’ll try to tackle some common topics from all three phases of the game and break them down. Second, I’m of the opinion that you can’t get too much knowledge about this great franchise, so I’m going to try to bring you an Eagles History Series which will include general franchise history and also spotlight some of the greatest players ever to suit up for the Birds. Finally, starting around June or July, I’ll start posting some previews for our opponents for the upcoming season. Hopefully this will give us a really good peak at what exactly we’ll be facing during our march toward our ultimate goal; a Super Bowl victory.
I’m really excited to be a little bigger part of this great community and will do my best to bring you guys breaking news, solid statistical analysis, and keep the mood light wherever possible. So climb aboard, sit back and relax and I’ll keep the music on, the AC flowing, and do my best not to wander into oncoming traffic or steer us off a cliff while climbing some of the windy mountain roads.

Nice job bro, happy for you
Since you are driving the bus, you should go with the
Otto -man pic!!! Just playing.
City of Champions!
We should do a hot chick of the day pic. I love those.
You know what, I know it isn’t foot ball related, but we can have like a Hot Chick playoffs, to see who wins. We can do votes to determine the winner, we can do brackets and all that. We can even make it football based by using the hotest know fan of a team. For Example Jessica Simpson can be the Cowboys rep, vs Maria Bello or Reese Witherspoon, I think Reese is an Eagles fan.
That would rock. We can do like a 8 chick deal working it to the final hotest chick.
City of Champions!
the first sign of the apocalypse … just playin bro looking forward to it

Second, I’m of the opinion that you can’t get too much knowledge about this great franchise
Be careful of the that fine line between franchise knowledge and disturbing anecdotes about the players and coaches!
Example: I am interested in knowing the history of Eagles training camp, where it’s been held, etc. I am not interested in knowing how Andy Reid fights perspiration in hot July sun.
Anyway, I’m sure you’ll do a great job. Looking forward to it.
Noted good sir. And yeah that’s more-so the path I’m planning to walk down. Awesome suggestion about training camp. I’ll jot that down and probably a week or two before camp opens I’ll run it. Actually, if you guys have any suggestions as to topics you’d be interested in learning about from our franchise history, let me know and as long as I can find the info somewhere, I’ll do my best to pass it along.

looking forward to it Foos. your football 101 is that going to cover topics and formations that just the eagles use or are you gonna break down things like the 3-4 or tampa 2 defensive pilosophies as well
at first i think i’m going to stay with the basics… i’m working on my first installment right now, and it’s truly the basic of basics as far as defense goes. so i’ll probably start by running through things like 4-3, 3-4, cover 2, cover 3, etc. once i get all the basics taken care of through all three phases of the game, i’ll probably come back do do some Eagles specific stuff. it’d just be hard to jump right in and talk about what we do in the Joker when we haven’t gone through the two basic formations that that defense is a hybrid of… if that makes sense.

you mean JJ doesn’t just send them out there and say “kill the quarterback” … there are actual plays … whoa man.
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
sometimes i’m not sure how to lean on that one lol… most of the time, you know there’s a method to the madness, but sometimes i swear he just radios in, “everyone that’s up front, do whatever you need to to get to the qb”

I’m looking forward to these. I’ve watched a ton of football (especially the Eagles), but never played organized ball at any level, so I think I’ll by surprised at what I don’t know.
I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.
youll rule the day you crossed me and took what was rightfully mine !

lol grats man

is this a passing of the torch or is Jason just going on hiatus?

neither… i’m just droppin my two cents in here and there and running with my post series that i’m starting up
