Any bets on how long the National Anthem is gonna take to sing?

A little green?

Anybody else have the feeling that this was our best chance this year??

by JJinPA on Feb 1, 2009 6:26 PM EST reply actions

I thought it was our year, too

But what’s done is done. We’re home.

So, being a sucker for an underdog I’m rooting for the Cards.

by MRPH on Feb 1, 2009 6:33 PM EST reply actions

I like the Steelers, but if the Cards win, it is some consolation for Eagles fans , perhaps.
Means we’re second best. Wince.

Haha

I thought I’d log on and see how many comments there were on here. 12…wow. We all really care about this stupid game… ;-)

P.S.

On the Revenge of the Birds thread, the people were like: “Oh shucks! James Harrison scored a 100 yard INT return for a TD! Gee golly!”

The passion is overwhelming guys…

The Australian Open was today

And that was a million times more thrilling than this nonsense.

Okay

This game turned out to be better than I thought…

by ajay on Feb 1, 2009 10:06 PM EST reply actions

It was an entertaining game, and I’m glad I watched.

But no matter who won, I was feeling bitter at the end of this one.

Either the Arizona Cardinals win a superbowl before the Eagles, a team that’s already won 5.

I found myself rooting for the cardinals because I didn’t want everyone in York County except me to be happy. Was that wrong?

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

by BrianS on Feb 1, 2009 10:15 PM EST reply actions

yes i was rooting for the cards

now nobody will hear the end of it regarding the steelers saying we have more superbowl wins than everybody yuck

"My first and foremost goal is to win a Super Bowl. I also set goals in terms of having a type of year to make the Pro Bowl. If I'm going to the Pro Bowl, I know I'm making plays for the team." Brian Dawkins

They only upside is that they have more than Dallas.

But, I’m pretty suck of (justifiably) smug Steelers fans, too. Come on Eagles, can you just win ONE fucking superbowl?!

(Sorry…still bitter from a couple weeks ago).

Bleh

The Steelers are a great organization, so they do deserve it. Doesn’t make their fans any less obnoxious though…

by ajay on Feb 1, 2009 10:29 PM EST reply actions

i rooted for the steelers because i wanted them to knock the cowboys from the ranks of most superbowl victories. plus the cardinals were still villians in my book. had they beaten the steelers it would have made it worse, because it would have made me really feel taht we wold have won if we had gotten there.

but now that the game is over the steelers are villians again. great classy organization yes, but now we get to hear more BS from their smug fans. whatever. seasons over. as of right now the birds are undefeated.

The Steelers

are the only thing the town of Pittsburgh really has though.

Giants fan coming in peace

if you guys wanna look at the bright side of tonight, consider that now, for the first time since ‘94, at least there’s a team with more rings than the Cowboys. And they still haven’t won a playoff game in almost 15 years.
