Front Office to Extend Yet Another Eagle’s Contract?

Over the last few weeks, the Eagles have made several moves in order to lock up some of their young talents with long-term contracts. OT Winston Justice was signed to a 4-year extension, and roughly a week later, offensive star TE Brent Celek inked a 6-year deal, which in effect will keep him in a midnight green uniform until after the 2016 season. Now there are circulating talks regarding another possible extension, this one of a staff member, not a player, but an Eagle nonetheless. Head coach Andy Reid is reportedly close to agreeing on a contract extension that would make his scheduled post-2010 departure void.

With the success Reid (pictured) has had during his tenure in the Philadelphia organization, it seems like an obvious decision to offer the big guy an extension. However, there’s undoubtedly going to be some criticism if the move is indeed executed. Despite his achievement of becoming the most successful coaching leader in franchise history (in terms of total victories) and taking his Birds to 5 conference championship games and a Super Bowl, Reid has taken in a large amount of critique over the years for a variety of things, ranging from poor clock management to having an inability to win the “big games”. This situation is definitely arguable, but the fact of the matter is that he has built up a solid professional team and made them something to reckon with in the league. An extension would only–barring any sudden collapse–guarantee continued years of success and confidence in the “city of brotherly love”.

Both Reid and team officials refused to discuss the ordeal, for they are focused on this week’s game, as they should be. However, it might not be long until the front office locks up another person within the system, particularly the team’s head coach, Andrew Walter Reid.

what? you never realized that our overweight ginger coach is also a 6’6’’ backup quarterback from new england? you’ve been living under a rock, my friend.

WHY?!?!?!?

do you waste so much of your life rehashing day-old sports stories. You realize this isn’t actual reporting right? you are offering no original input. Just curious dude, just curious.

My "t" and "y" buttons are messed up so don't bitch at me about misspelling, I'm just saying.

Yeah, you broke this one on BGN as far as I can tell.

that is you doing the same thing with less quality. you are mocking someone on a fanpost when you are fully aware it should be a fanshot. arent you doing the same thing but crappier?

RIP Jim Johnson. You will truly be missed.

He's just practicing.

He wants to be a writer and he’s pretty good at it. There are still fanposts that are a couple days old up. If you don’t want to read it, don’t click on it, pretty simple really.

i personally cant wait for these fanposts. its better than some of the other crap on this board from people who think theyre updates are too important to use a fanshot (JIBTA).

I was the first person on here to speak up against it. He has been posting less frequently but I still wish he would learn how to discern between something being fanpost worthy and something he should keep on his blog. I certainly don’t feel as though he should never post here but I would say at least half of it shouldn’t be posted.

Hint: If there’s already a ton of fanposts about it, or it’s already on the front page (like this story!), we don’t need YOUR fanpost about it.

I certainly don’t speak for everyone but I feel as though legitimately unique content is being blocked out by rehashes like this one, and it perturbs me (to say it nicely). The only reason I spoke out against him and no one else is because he’s the most heinous offender, sometimes 4 or 5 times a week posting repeated “news”.

I could care less that I don’t like his style of writing, and it obviously doesn’t bother him that I don’t like it. That’s not what bothers me. It’s that he uses this site as an advertisement for his blog.

PS: If any of you don’t like my criticism, don’t read it or don’t comment. At least my criticism doesn’t take up a spot on the recent fanposts list.

I never questioned

whether he should post it, I just wondered why he constantly wasted his time retyping reports of things which are completely reported about. If he wants to practice being a writer he should go get an original story or write about original topics, who needs another rehash like this?
