A Question To JIBTA.

Hey everyone im new here, although i have been following this site for awhile now. I have noticed all the arguments between the members on BGN and JIBTA, and it always ends up being the same way. The way i see it is this, JIBTA makes a ridicoulous statment with no stats or anything to back it up, and either Bye Dawk etc... seem to always negate his statments with logical facts. WHat always gets me is that i have never ever seen JIBTA admit hes been wrong. Now i dont know JIBTA and for all i know he might be a nice guy, but i just have one question, How do you explain Iguana getting cut twice by the Eagles? I mean we are a thin and anyone at the CB position, and if you have any talent at all you'll probably make the team and yet hes been cut twice. I actually want to know why you think this has happened. osrry if this is coming out rude, but i just really want to know.

bro thanks alot

now your going to start a series of horrid arguements on this post…

Pretty much JIBTA likes to argue, I think he just says the stuff he says just for the sake of argueing…

Iguana got cut twice because he is a late pick comming of a knee injury. He was added to the 53man roster only because we though that Sheldon/Asante wouldnt be able to go so we needed something at the 3rd CB position…

Welcome to BGN.

AR and Company know how to use talent. It’s not like many of their cast offs turn out doing very well on other teams. Even TO – who performed well – was a destructive X factor that had to be discarded. I loved G. Lewis’s catch earlier this season, but it’s not like he’s setting the world on fire. Now there is the case of B.Dawk, but that’s more of a ‘time will tell’ thing. God, I STILL miss that guy and i’m trying not to whine about that.

Long story short – Personnel knows what they are doing – Jack must not have been picking up the system, and that’s a shame. He had so much potential. I was really psyched during camp when Asante called him out as an up and coming stud CB.

by IggleGreen on Dec 4, 2009 8:07 AM EST up reply actions

he is asking

how the eagles cut him twice even tho their secondary is shot to shit with injuries and roid suspension when you are jack’s personal publicist and manager. he is assuming that to make such a bold statement that jack is better than asante, you must have some kind of research and facts to draw you to that conclusion. explain to him how you are right and he is wrong using rational thought

Wait. SO after all this you still think that Jack will be something special in this league? I had some hopes for Jack but it seems after the whole “weed” thing he has never been the same. He had his chances, and the Eagles always do a good job of evaluating young talent, especially CB’s, and given the situation we were in they wouldve taken anything, i just dont get it if hes that good then he shouldve made the team at least once out of those two tries right?

No need to 'pologize.

I’m using you as you as an example. It was preseason or early pre-season and we had a quick row over some player or another (I forget what it was about) and we disagreed and it passed (mostly) respectfully. I didn’t actually call you a monkey-humping psychopath, but I said something rough and boy, you gave it right back.
The difference is that you can back it up with facts, you know your football, and you don’t get juvenile.

That gets respect on this board. You pass that respect back even if you get pissed off over one point or another from time to time. Sure there are times when the big dogs go at it, but the reason I like this board is because of guys like you who teach me more than I know, and hear me out respectfully when I think I have something to add. That’s the distinction that I am trying to make to JIBTA, and he just isn’t getting it.

welcome

I’ll try and explain it from how I see it. JIBTA comes up with ridiculous ideas so on the crazy off chance that it happens he can be the first one to say I told you so. His name is more of an insult to asante than a boast for jack. In his eyes asante is a useless CB who is always getting beat but makes a pick here and there and everyone loves him. In my opinion if he keeps picking off balls then he can be as bad at tackling and keep jumping routes all he wants. His ideas about players being great seems to be based on whether he likes them or not and not whether they are actually good. So I guess you can say he is a little biased. He won’t say he’s wrong, because in his eyes he never is wrong. No matter how asinine his statements and predictions turn out to be, he defends them to the end. You’ll grow to like the guy like the rest of us. You may not agree with him, but if he wasn’t on this site, there wouldn’t be too much opposition.

by macjack09 on Dec 3, 2009 8:13 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Mackjack you are a nice guy

but you give JIBTA too much credit. He’s a creepy pathological jackass who curses out and tries to bully anyone who doesn’t agree with him, on any subject. Every athlete that isn’t his hero ‘sucks’. His stated qulifications for who is a good linebacker and who isn’t are blatantly racist. He’s been tossed off of several sports sites because he can’t grasp the basics of decent social intercourse or fair arguments. The guy is a pure, unadulterated sociopath and a waste human life.

Other than that though, I like him. ;)

I've always thought

That JIBTA was entertaining, if nothing else, but I’ve always thought that we on the boards are handing him weapons.

As has been said, he never budges, never changes his mind, and never backs up anything he says. Because of this, it’s literally impossible to get anywhere in an argument with him. The only solution is to not respond to any of his comments.

Basically, JIBTA is like that old dog that keeps whining for you to pet it some more. Eventually, if you just ignore it, it will walk away, lie down, and piss on itself again.

The reason why – the main reason why – is I don’t like bullies. I’m sorry if you feel this is too harsh and i’m sorry that you walked into the middle of this, cause it is ugly.

But I promise you and everyone else on this board respect for their opinions, whether I agree or not, so long as you show respect for the board. LOL it shouldn’t take a running back 30 carries to be successful.

Chris Johnson hasn’t had 30 carries yet this year and I’d say he’s doing alright.

Steven Jackson, Adrian Peterson, Thomas Jones none of them have had 30 carries yet this year and that would be your top 4 running backs in the league.

If Jacobs needs 30 carries to have an impact on a game than he should be in the game in the first place.

Deangelo Williams(No.4 in my book) 1022 yards 5.2 avg, only rushed 30 times in a game once and that’s because it was working. He had 152 yards rushing in that game. He averages only 18 carries a game. Chris Johnson, only 20.

I think the Center snapped the ball on the wrong count. If you watch the entire line, let’s everyone rush past. FSU purposely holds their stance to try to draw the offsides penalty and avoid being called for false starts.

That some serious dedication in the face of overwhelming evidence you may be an idiot to stay in the stance that long, though.

Most likely what happened was...

the Olineman who “took the play off” was jumping offsides during practice all week then finally his coach said something to the effect of “bitch if you move on anything other than the snap count i will tear your head off and mount it the antenna of my car…”

So naturally the Player took him seriously and didnt move on the wrong snap count.

Are you really asking, or just denying it?

I can give you a few steps to get you instant respect if you are open to it:

1. No one derserves a “fuck you” if they disagree with you – unless they actually attacked you personally.

2. No player on out team ‘sucks’. Some guys aren’t playing up to their potential or have been mis-cast in the role they have. Some guys struggle.

3. If you don’t like the way someone plays or presents themself in public, state it clearly and give your reasons.

4. Be more like Joe_D, except in the case of his blind hatred for McNabb, his opinion is respected because he can state it without harshing our team, yet put the facts out on the table.

5. Stick to the facts you can back up. Some times you are really good at that.

6. Forget about the stuff you don’t know for sure. That’s he stuff they call JIBTA ‘opinionfacts’. If you want to state an opinion, say, “I don’t have the facts to back the up, but I strongly feel that….. blah blah.”

7. Admit you are human, own up to your mistakes, football is always a learning process and full of surprises, and be really nice to the new people on the board and the young kids that come in here and talk sh!t, but let them know the rules.

You’d be amazed at how much more respect you would get. And I would never call you a poodle-farker again.

Don't know about Joe

But I wouldn’t mind having Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Philip Rivers, and a (healthy) Kurt Warner over McNabb.

And no, I don’t care for how many Super Bowl wins a QB has. Jim Plunkett has two of them. And a career TD-Int of 164-198.

RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.

by Imp on Dec 5, 2009 12:03 PM EST up reply actions

Aww....you are making it too hard for him!

Since you took out most of the QBs he was going to say, he is left with only Big Ben and Warner. LOL
I take Mcnabb over those two.

P.Manning actually turns into Eli in the playoffs.
Postseason record and stats(7-8)
348 of 565 (61.5 percent) for 4,207 yards. 22 touchdown passes and 17 interceptions.
His quarterback rating: 84.8

Peyton’s Superbowl numbers- 25/38 247 yards, 6.5 avg, 1 TD, 1 INT
81.8 QB rating.

His opponent Mr. Rex, 165 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 68.4 QB rating.

He would have lost that game if the Bears had a half decent QB.
Peyton Manning is arguably the greatest QB of all time but even he chokes in big games.

Mcnabb lost the Superbowl to a team that freakin’ spied on their opponents!

by jack is better than asante on Dec 6, 2009 12:26 PM EST up reply actions

his carreer numbers are and he doesnt throw picks

Tom Brady’s career:
-Completion percentage: 63.3%
-Passing Yards: 29,732 yards
-Yards per Attempt: 7.3
-Touchdowns: 217
-Interceptions: 94 picks
-Passer Rating: 93.3

Donovan McNabb:
-Completion percentage: 59.0%
-Passing Yards: 31,508 yards
-Yards per Attempt: 6.9
-Touchdown: 209
-Interception: 96
-Passer Rating: 86.4

Let’s see…Brady has much higher completion percentage? Check. Much higher YPA? Check. More touchdowns? Check. Less picks? Check. Much higher passer rating? Check.

McNabb only beats Brady in passing yards – by less than 800 yards. And keep in mind, Donovan McNabb made his first career start on 11/14/99 and Brady made his first start on 9/30/01 – meaning McNabb had more than a year worth of starts than Brady to compile his passing yards.

dude Brady has 29,732 yards let’s take away Moss’s 1,493 yard season (5% of Brady’s total) and he still has 28,239 yards Moss hardly inflated Bradys numbers … that is flat out idiotic.

Brady averages 240 YPG McNabb 220 YPG. When Brady hits 143 games (where McNabb is) and stays on his average he could conceivably be at 34,320 yards 2,800 yards more than McNabb. If you are paying attention 2,800 > 1,493

If you are going to pull Moss’s big year than you have to pull T.O.s big year from McNabb because that year he was just a product of T.O.

Your complete disregard for actual stats and blatant foolishness is losing it’s hilarity and getting rather ridiculous.

Hey 36, you and Joe_D go at it pretty hot and heavy.

I don’t like getting in the middle of them cause you both know what you are talking about (most of the time), get real intense about it. And are neither 100% wrong or right (in my opinion). The thing about Joe_D’s arguments against McNabb are based on McNabb’s worst traits, he just refuses to see concede McNabbs good traits (usually) and balance his argument. I’m disappointed by that because other than that, he could be a great commentator and could probably make a logical argument to trade McNabb based off that although it would take a lot more finesse. (And I still wouldn’t agree with him.)

As for me, my thought is, if you try to break up an argument between two big dogs, you’ll probably get bit. Some of you guys could go toe to toe with the analysts on the tube. I know my limitations.

I think I add a bit more than that JIBTA.

I like to come on and rally the troops to back the team when they are underperforming. And I point out the the new guys like Eldra and Babin who seem like they are on the edge of making a great impact.

I support AR and the coaching team, but I’m not in love with Marty. I back them up on the most part except for some clock managment of late. When the big dogs are commenting on how to fix the secondary and the LB’s I don’t comment much because I don’t know how we an fix it and they are a lot more knowledgeable than me. That means I know when to shut up when I am not in the know.

Yes, I do hammer you relentlessly because you don’t play nice, and I don’t like bullies. And it’s not just me. Like I said above, act more like a ‘people’ and you’ll get respect.

Unfortunately for JIBTA

Ikegwuonu was a non-factor. He tried out for the Bengals but as far as I know.. he hasn’t been picked up yet (I could be wrong). This is probably because we grabbed someone from their practice squad and now they need someone to fill that spot. He had a chance to play and step up in one game against the Bears and he did nothing.

Statiscally Asante has done more in one game than Jack has done his whole career. and that INCLUDES tackles.

Everyone has different favorite players and respectfully so but to say that Jack is BETTER than Asante is just not factual. Hopefully he gets to prove himself to some team sooner or later and his success will fufill whatever it is you are looking for from him. In the meantime… you can say you just don’t like Asante or that you like Jack… but Jack is not better than Asante. And when that day comes when Jack IS better than Asante, I will be the first one congratulating JIBTA for “calling that one”.

I have a Love/Hate relationship with JIBTA. I can’t stand his debate positions only because he never backs his position up with well thought out arguments. However, I recognize the fact that everybody has, and deserves, to voice their opinions in a respectful fashion (yes, rarely is he actually respectful when engaged in debate).

With all of that said, I REALLY enjoy when people call him out because this forum just goes ape shit and it’s fun to read.

Elmer is Better than Buggs = EIBTB.

Not real catchy but it’s just as dumb a statement to make as Jack is Better Than Asante and Reggie Is Better Than Avant.

Elmer Fudd never busted up a single play when Buggs Bunny was receiving for Warner Brothers. The guy sucked. Can’t beleive that contract he got either. What a waste. They coulda got Taz as a DE, but Fudd took up too much cap space.

Still, Fudd was good in college. I still have his freakin’ jersey wasting space in my closet. Couldn’t give it away.

i got some love for JIBTA

one of the main reasons i try to read all the comments on BGN.

he’s got his opinion and isn’t afraid to stick to it. even when others feel like they have proven they are right and he is wrong. threads with JIBTA are like MTV reality shows in that some of it’s an act for entertainment and some of it is really what he feels/thinks. but it’s entertaining to watch, nonetheless.

unless, of course, you are someone who feels like they need to prove others wrong and have people acknowledge they’re right about subjective sports? what fun would sports discussion be if everyone thought the same thing and felt the same way about the players, coaches and teams?

So we’ll condemn JIBTA, set the dogs on him, because it’s what needs to happen. Because sometimes the truth isn’t good enough. Sometimes, people deserve more.
He’s the hero BGN deserves…but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he’s not our hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful
protector… a dark knight of BGN.

::cut to backlit shot of JIBTA running in slow-motion with the rest of BGN in pursuit::

STFU JIB-Stain.

You are disrupting me while I’m trying to find some torches and pitchforks to pass out to the rest of the angry mob. Where is that rope that I use to release the hounds?

And Poor Sports, yours was a good post, except you forgot one very important thing: JIBTA consistantly disprespects every single person on this board with ’fu’s, ‘you don’t know shit’s’ and ‘u are a moron’ before he makes his wrong statements, excecpt for with two people – "Team Subservia, and you (so far).

Most of the ‘mob’ that hates him have good reason. Most accept when they are wrong and a few go at it, but with a hell of lot more respect and decency than JIB-Stain shows to the rest of us. There is very good reason why he has been thrown off of multiple sports boards. I have more respect for the people that are regulars on this board to think that they are a mindless mob ganging up on an innocent man.

JIB-Stain has earned every bit of his abuse.

by IggleGreen on Dec 7, 2009 6:47 AM EST up reply actions

yeah, he's a little crude

but i treat internet posters with the same judgement as i do myspace owners: you know that’s not really them in real life. it’s just the internet version of them.

take me, for instance. i drop f-bombs left and right in the real world but on the internet i try usually keep it clean. to quote more pop culture, “they’re the faces of a stranger but we love to try them on.” everyone has an internet persona. JIBTA’s is just a little harsh. besides, if someone saying ’f-you" on the internet is getting to you, good luck using any forum anywhere on the internet. ever.

by PoorSports on Dec 7, 2009 2:48 PM EST up reply actions

also

looking for decency on a piece of technology 95% dedicated to pornography (the internet) is asking a lot.

again, if we were all polite and agreed all the time, the internet would be boring. everyone hates trolls, but they get the most attention/posts. look at this thread, for christ’s sake! all about JIBTA! what else would we be talking about?

as i play the role of devil’s advocate, it is important to note that i am in no way related to JIBTA nor do i condone his actions/words. only that i respect the fact he has opposing views because that gives us all something to talk about.

by PoorSports on Dec 7, 2009 2:52 PM EST up reply actions

Wow PoorSports,

Well spoken and well argued. Point conceded. 250 hate mails about JIB-Stain are getting kind of redundant and it’s quite enough already. Torches dropped, pitchforks discarded, mob disanded. (for my part anyway) I still don’t know what to do about the dogs, though.

How ’bout them Eagles, huh?

by IggleGreen on Dec 7, 2009 10:44 PM EST up reply actions

I don’t know if any of you frequent Pro Football Talk and read the comments there. I suggest you don’t. But there’s a guy on there that reminds me of JIBTA; Vox Veritas. He’s a bitch who resorts to name-calling and selective stat reading to make any point and when you disagree with him he does the internet equivalent of holding his breath, puffing out his cheeks, and stamping his feet. In other words, he’s a child. Just like JIBTA. The only difference is whenever the Cowboys suck ’nards, Vox Veritas has the good decency to tuck his tail between his legs and disappear for a week.

Its called freedom of speech JIBTA. If you can’t take a little criticism and all you can do is come back with invective and profanity, you only prove the point that everyone is making about you.

Oh, and Larry Johnson and Brandon Jacobs have both been pussified. One by being ridden into the ground and the other by money. No, I don’t care if they are “your boys.” You might be surprised to learn, but the fact that you own their jersey is not a valid argument. No, I don’t care how they did in college. I suppose you are talking about his 22 rushes for 107 yards against the Browns … the 29th ranked rushing defense in the league who give up 154 yards a game on the ground. Cincy could have put anyone back there and got over 100 yards.

It’d be like me arguing that Tatum Bell should be a starting running back in this league because of two good seasons in Denver and completely ignoring the other seasons of failure. And then when someone pointed out those seasons of failure, me saying “but he was a beast at Oklahoma… he’s my boy…”
