Could Holmgren hire Mornhinweg in Cleveland?
This is probably little more than idle speculation, but PFT floated the idea of the Browns' newly hired 'in charge of everything football related" man Mike Holgmren possibly looking at former assistants of his as the next coach of the Browns. The major name speculated about is John Gruden, but another guy who has held the job as offensive coordinator of the Eagles could be in the mix as well.
It's a delicate situation for Holmgren. If he's looking to hire a guy who has previously worked for him, Holmgren's options for 2010 are limited to guys like Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, Redskins coach Jim Zorn, and Seahawks coach Jim Mora.

I highly doubt Holmgren would try to screw Andy over by going after Mornhinweg. Besides, who the hell would want to hire him as a head coach after he chose to kickoff in overtime after winning the toss? That was one of the most ridiculous decisions in the history of sports……ever.
Andy Reid is 43-5 when running the ball at least 30 times in a game( Ray Diddy on Eagles Post Game Live after Bears Victory)
NO!!

You know what keeps teams from poaching your assistants?
Long playoff runs.

NO WAY
I look at the franchise like this,
A old boss has a boat and its totally sinking. He says, “Hey come on board! we will have a great time!”
Meanwhile,
Your current employer has a 465ft mega yacht complete with loose supermodels in the jacuzzi tub with all the beer and cheese steaks you could possible eat.

This is inevitable
Marty might not go to the Browns, but chances are he gets another shot to be head coach. He’s put together too many solid offenses in Philadelphia and Andy Reid clearly isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. As he’s gained more control over the play-calling, the offense has grown more balanced, more diverse and more dangerous.
Not sure
Holmgren is going to want to be in charge. While he might favor somebody he’s worked with in the past, he’s going to want to have somebody that will basically be under his direction.
Or he might coach himself.
I remember a comment from a Seahawk fan who said that when Holmgren was in charge in Seattle as a GM and coach, he wasn’t doing that great until he relinquished front-office responsibilities and concentrated only on coaching. Is he going to want to do the opposite?
You know Mohrninweg better than I do, but I think that he’s done a good job on offense, judging by the Eagles’ performance, and the organization is not going to want to let him go. In terms of character, how tempting is it going to be for him to go from OC to being head coach? It might be less tempting when he knows that Holmgren is going to be the overall boss, so he will essentially be a “game coordinator” with somebody he still answers to. How well do these guys like each other? If they’re friends, I could see him going to work under Holmgren.
Dont u love how mainly the Eagles run football hahah
Meaning…There are sooo many organizations looking to the Eagles or “Former Eagles coaches” to man their organization!! It is very telling. U dont see them looking to Dallas who have won “multiple Super Bowls” or the Steelers who have also done the same. They’re looking for stablility! Most people know that the Birds, despite not winning a Bowl as of late, are a VERY stable environment and is filled with many good character guys. Also the fact that we almost always have a winning record season in and season out. I just thinks itz awesome that my favorite NFL team is always highly thought of when it comes to an organization and coaches. Now if only we can get the big Trophy!!!!
