Cant wait to See Dawkins back in Philly

We're BACK in the playoffs,  What a great Christmas week...  I am a Philadelphia transplant living in Denver, And my wife could not have given me a better gift.  I am heading to Philly this weekend to watch the EAGLES and Broncos.  I have not been to the new stadium and can't wait!!!!  I hated seeing Dawkins leave but I must say living in Denver,  If Dawkins had to go anywhere I am sure glad it was Denver. He is a BEAST.

Dawkins is my favorite Eagle of all time (by far)

but I still would love to see him get burnt by D-Jax.

The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to have a running back and a wide receiver with 500 yards apiece in the same season before their 22nd birthdays.

by Smitty2K3 on Dec 21, 2009 3:08 PM EST up reply actions

We understand this… but you can’t cover D-Jax one on one, so more often than not a safety will have to help over the top.

Okay maybe I should re-think this.....;)

Some people may say there is better but he is my favorite. It has been awesome seeing him play in person, The last time I had the pleasure was when the Eagles came to Denver. The outcome sucked we got down by to many early.

I can't wait to see Dawkins either

Or an older Champ bailey and Old Ty Law… Cause that means DeSean is going to be 8 yards past them!

Congrats on the tickets, awesome wifey you have there!!!

No knock on bailey, but Desean just happens to be about the fastest most electrifying player in the NFL

And if you’re from Philly, why the heck are you not an eagles fan?

I agree he is the fastest WR in the NFL he will break records for years to come

I just never liked them RON Jarwarski was always on his back when i watched

TD and that was it .

Have you ever seen desean jackson run?

He’s the fastest reciever in the nfl. He catches everything thrown to him. Not to mention Desean is one of the best punt returners in the NFL? who returns punts for the broncos?

by andyb on Dec 21, 2009 4:17 PM EST up reply actions

Yes i have seen him run ! I have seen all the eagles games hes exelent

great rookie pick up . It should be a great matchup to go up against champ all day .
  for both players .
Counter question ? how do you cover B marsh next week he breaks tackles with
brute strength is tall and is not a burner like D -jax but when he finds open space
 he can move too

Before the game it will be weird to see him on the other sideline, but when the game starts he will be just another opposing player to me.

by eaglesinmd on Dec 21, 2009 3:49 PM EST reply actions

Dont get me wrong I wont be cheering for him during the game.. But DAWKINS is an EAGLE, will always be an EAGLE. He didn’t want to leave. He will be back to retire as an EAGLE.

I hope so

He deserves it.

I can’t wait to see Dawkins lead the Broncos out onto the field just like Vick did the Eagles in Atlanta.

Just a guess… but I’d think the crowd reaction will be a little different though for Dawk than it was for Vick.

I'm going to my first eagles game in philly this week

and unfortunately it is most likely going to be Dawkins’ last. His ovation will be outstanding

50+ posts . . . .

And almost off them consistent of “Jackson is better” followed by “No he is not, Marshall is”

Like a debate back and forth between 5th graders.

by MG77 on Dec 21, 2009 7:38 PM EST reply actions

The debate was about champ bailey not B marsh

your people here jumped on me right off the bat with smart remarks .
I honestly never intended disrespect but i will defend myself from that crap

by broncosfaninphilly on Dec 21, 2009 7:49 PM EST up reply actions

Curious to see

How the Broncos use Dawkins and if he blitzes much. Only have seen 1 Broncos game (vs. Pats out in Denver) this year and they didn’t seem to put Dawkins up in the box as much as JJ did the past 2 years.

by MG77 on Dec 21, 2009 7:39 PM EST reply actions

yea no sacks for bdawk this

but he has a HUGE amount of tackles this year, is almost as if everyone on the broncos closes every gap just so he can make the tackle haha

Deshaun is amazing

So is Marshall, 5th graders aside, why not debate greatness :-)

Will you dust off your #20 jerseys?

I haven’t worn (or washed…) my green Dawkins jersey since the Arizona NFC Championship Game, but I definitely plan on wearing it this week out of respect. Having said that, I would never wear a Bronco’s #20 jersey like so many people said they would do back in the summer.

Just curious if all the Eagles fans out there will be dusting off their old Dawkins jerseys this week?

I think I may.

I have the Reggie White ready to go but the #20 will be in the suitcase game time decision.
