Around SBN: Tiger Woods Makes His 2012 PGA Tour Debut

The Saints loss really shook up our playoff scenarios.

If Dallas lost AGAIN this week, all we would need to do is win out the next two games and we could rest up on week 17. Instead, the Cowboys are right back in the hunt -- oh and did I mention they looked pretty damn good? Their pass rush was excellent last night and Mike Jenkins is slowly becoming a stud in their secondary. Romo is playing lights out, Austin is continuing his dominance, and they can still run the ball very well... Ouch.

Week 17 could be a dog fight for the division @ Jerruh's world. I'm a little worried about it to be honest.

agreed on all points Joe

However week to week we continue to get healthier, and well as much as its dirt in my face McNabbs playing lights out as well. Does this win by the cowgirls make it alil bit harder? Yeah but i have faith that we come out on top, cuz when were “on” we can stand toe to toe with anyone in the league.

Gotta be impressed by DeMarcus Ware, too. Really gutsy effort yesterday after that potentially serious injury last week.

The one bright spot I can take away from this game, though, is the continued abysmal play of Flozell Adams. He was atrocious yesterday, and as much as it pains me to say it, Romo’s good game yesterday is even more impressive when you factor in that Adams simply can’t block anybody anymore.

Week 17 Game for division crown

Would you really want it any other way?

by Tron79 on Dec 20, 2009 11:49 AM EST reply actions

Yes

I wont be able to watch ESPN for a week if they beat us in week 17 and snag the East. Im sure they will be slobbering all over romo nuts this week as it is.

The thing is

if we play them a t hird time, I think we beat them a third ..if we lose on 17 of course

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!

We are basically guarunteed to play the Cowboys in the first round

Week 17 will just determine who is home. This is assuming that we win today and against the Broncos which we should. Yay, a tough Dallas team 2 weeks in a row.

by Team Serbia on Dec 20, 2009 12:06 PM EST reply actions

Nope.

Thanks to the Packer’s choking, they are now tied with the Girls, although they own the head-to-head. If the Packers choke again, the Girls beat the Skins, the Girls could pull the 5 seed, while we seem very likely to get the three.

If the Vagiants can put together some wins, they can knock the Girls out of the playoffs if the Girls lose to the Skins or to us and the Vagiants win some games.

Cowboys Played A Great Gm.........

Running Gm Was Great as Was there Pass rush……..@ the end of the Day those are pcs to winning any game……That being Said if we play our gm and we protect 5 and get after romo and can run the ball we can beat anybody……….

by CJ's Eagles on Dec 20, 2009 12:21 PM EST reply actions

Deep breaths....

This game proves that the Saints are beatable. They’ve looked shaky against teams that they’re supposed to beat.

We win today, we make the playoffs. After that, a win by us and a loss by the girls gives us the division.

"Backs in the 'I'...First and 10...McNabb, play action. Is back again. He is looking..he is going deep. He wants DeSean Jackson..who HAS IT!!! HE HAS IT!!! AND STEPPED INTO THE ENDZONE!! He took it away from the defender!! He took it away from Dominique Rogers-Cromarte, and ran into the endzone!!"

by McNabb2Maclin4Philly on Dec 20, 2009 12:43 PM EST reply actions

Dunno. Wins today and next week by the Eagles, coupled with a (very possible) loss by Dallas to Washington next week, and wouldn’t that pretty much wrap up the East for Philly? (It would put Dallas 2 back with only 1 game remaining.) Not saying it will happen, but it’s certainly possible. Moreover, wouldn’t that scenario make a playoff appearance less likely for Dallas? (Compare their schedule with other potential wild card teams.)

Sure, they looked good last night, against a NO team which has been skewing “beatable” for at least the last two weeks. But fear-inducing? Not to me. If the Eagles take care of their own business, I see little reason to worry about week 17 or a potential playoff matchup than we normally would—especially if that game is in Philly again.

by HoosierPop on Dec 20, 2009 1:00 PM EST reply actions

wouldnt worry too much about that game. The saints have been looking beatable for weeks as others have said, the cowgirls needed this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. the girls are a decent team playing desperate football, the saints have been eeking out wins against shit opponents the last 5 weeks, if anyone was going to beat them it was going to be the girls. theres a reason there have only been two undefeated teams in NFL history. and how about dallas almost blowing that game in the second half?

by njh3293 on Dec 20, 2009 1:09 PM EST reply actions

i’m not convinced. the cowboys are still trailing in the standings, yesterday was the cowboys’ only win in the last 3 games, brees had a lousy game, and it is december (which means the eagles are usually hot and cowboys are usually miserable). i’m not going to be on panic mode yet.

by awd777 on Dec 20, 2009 1:56 PM EST reply actions

If yuo watched the game

you would know the Brees’ horrible game was due to our pass rush greatly troubling their o-line, something not many teams have been able to do.

The Knights season may have just ended, but the Cowboys year is just begining!

by aussie_cowboy on Dec 20, 2009 4:50 PM EST up reply actions

I didn't know

that you and some imaginary peoply actually owned the cowboys’ pass rush, which it seems like you are claiming

by Manoovi on Dec 20, 2009 8:31 PM EST up reply actions

So I assume that you are criticising a grammer technicality

because you cannot disagree with the premise of the post?

The Eagles lost to the Saints (who we beat), they lost to the Raiders (who we beat) and they lost to us (who we are).

by aussie_cowboy on Dec 20, 2009 9:39 PM EST up reply actions

im still holding out hope that we can win our next 2 and the redskins beat the cowboys

by eaglesinmd on Dec 20, 2009 1:57 PM EST reply actions

I look forward to playing them again

It seems (not to disrespect anyone on here) that people are starting to get scared of the Cowboys and they would rather us be handed the division than rather us earn it. I’m not a fan of that. If we have to play the Cowboys at the end of the season for the division than so be it. I would rather us beat the Cowboys and ride the momentum through the playoffs than be handed the division and lose almost instantly. I won’t say they haven’t looked impressive, but remember they have lost game this season. They beat the Saints. Wow it happens. Thats why there has only been one team in NFL history to go undefeated the whole season. They look good, but they are beatable. I still think we are the way better team. They barely beat us last time, and we have a team thats young at pretty much most of the key positions. We have the means to beat them especially considering we always do at seasons end, so I look forward to playing them again.

by macjack09 on Dec 20, 2009 2:18 PM EST reply actions

this is ridiculous...

one win and everyone forgets that this is the Dallas team that we OWN in December.

If they had lost last night they were basicall out of it… but they beat an overratted saints team and now you are affraid of them?

Stupid.

They’re the same old losing cowboys

Dont Disrespect the Level

by 700 Level on Dec 20, 2009 2:20 PM EST reply actions

i totaly agree

the saints were bound to lose anyway the cowboys r still cowboys and we have no reason to fear them

by EaglesRock on Dec 20, 2009 3:50 PM EST up reply actions

We beat you in Philly earlier this year.

The Knights season may have just ended, but the Cowboys year is just begining!

by aussie_cowboy on Dec 20, 2009 4:51 PM EST up reply actions

key word in that phrase "earlier"

You guys suck in december…congrats on the win , but dont get ahead of yourself

f@#K DEM COWBOYZ.....F#%K EM!

by northern eagle on Dec 20, 2009 8:06 PM EST up reply actions

This year may well be different though

Romo has 4 straight games with 100+ passer rating and 0 Ints. I look foward to the week 17 matchup that will decide the division.

The Knights season may have just ended, but the Cowboys year is just begining!

I totally agree I mean we pretty much automatically win week 17 because we beat them the last few years right?

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!

by Joe_D on Dec 20, 2009 8:59 PM EST up reply actions

You really should be saying, "As bad as they have been in Dec, historically."

Because that doesn’t mean a thing this December. Just like all their tarnished, dusty old super bowl rings. It has nothing to do with whether or not they are going to win or lose next week or the week after.

But it could lull some people into taking them more lighlty than they should, and that would be a bad thing.

by IggleGreen on Dec 20, 2009 9:28 PM EST up reply actions

Ok I like you two.

Very great example. I hear alot of people saying were better in December well we have 5 rings that’s all horseshit. Every year is different anything can happen let’s look to the future not the past and I hope it’s all on the line come January 3rd

I cant wait for Dallas-Philly

between the Eagles and the Cards?

by aussie_cowboy on Dec 20, 2009 10:10 PM EST up reply actions

Should be the Eagles

Common opponents were Giants (both teams won), Bears (both teams won), 49ers (Eagles won, Cardinals were swept

by tanman5 on Dec 20, 2009 10:12 PM EST up reply actions

Alright thanks

The Eagles lost to the Saints (who we beat), they lost to the Raiders (who we beat) and they lost to us (who we are).

by aussie_cowboy on Dec 20, 2009 10:21 PM EST up reply actions

Nope - no tie is possible

It would first be conference record. Right now, the Eagles are 1.5 games up on the conference record. To end up tied, we need to beat the Broncos, lose to Dallas and the Cardinals need to sweep the Rams and Packers. Any other scenario, and we have the tiebreaker.

If we then tied the conference record and went to common opponents, they are:

Giants, Bears, 49ers, Panthers

The Eagles swept these opponents in five games, while the Cardinals lost to the 49ers twice and the Panthers. Its impossible for us to tie the Cardinals. Since they won the division, almost the only way they aren’t the 4th seed is if we lose out and they win out.

Vs. the Vikings, the Cardinals could tie them by record if the Vikes lose out and the Cardinals win out. If that happened, the Cardinals would be the #3 and the Vikes would be the #4 by conference record.

by Andrew B on Dec 21, 2009 9:07 AM EST up reply actions

12-4

First round bye coming up thanks to the Panthers and the next team to beat the Vikes…

: )

Andy Reid is 43-5 when running the ball at least 30 times in a game( Ray Diddy on Eagles Post Game Live after Bears Victory)

by Route36 on Dec 20, 2009 11:51 PM EST reply actions

um as of right now

if the Vikings lose 1 more and we win out we get the #2 seed… could get interesting because I thing the Giants can beat them week 17

thats Cobb on Kolb crime if you ask me... as said by yophillybro
