Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

Things not lining up for the Eagles . . .

This game really shouldn't have been that tough.  Niners are a poor road team that has really struggled when they have had to come East the past couple of years.  Still Niners are catching a couple of breaks including:

1. Game being moved to 4:15 due to the weather allowing the Niners to play at their normal time.

2. Potentially slow, sloppy field which might limit the effectiveness of the Eagles to go deep against a pretty lousy Niners' secondary.

3. Field conditions that may limit the effectivness of the Eagles to bring pressure from the corners against the mediocre Niners' tackles.   Even still, I am hoping that Cole can have a big day against the pedestrian Joe Staley at LT who is coming back from a knee injury.

4. Field conditions which may favor the ideal Niners' offensive game plan of pounding Gore/Coffee and working the passing game underneath with Davis and Crabtree.

I hope I am wrong and that the weather/field conditions don't play a factor in this game.

if we come out to play...

we’ll beat the 49ers regardless of weather. I am worried about this game, but it won’t be the weather’s fault if we lose

It's not like the Niners don't have things lining up against them

A warm weather west coast team on a short week who is very bad on the road going cross country to play a hot Eagles team on a foot of snow…

agreed...

i see this weather issue mostly as an advantage. people are thinking way to much into this.

Also...

Don’t forget that Shady’s played all his life in snow and if I recall he had a career game for Pitt in snowy conditions one year. Everybody’s saying he’s gonna do horrible. I disagree.

Granted, he never played against Patrick Willis in a foot of snow…

RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.

there won't be a foot of snow on the field...

or any snow for that matter. they have tons of heating pipes under the field to keep the snow melted. if anything, the field will be muddy.

the field will be a mess but

its really cold out and they’re from san fran.
I think the Eagles will stick to what they do best and not change their game plan dramatically.
I’m goin to this game I’m pumped

I’ve seen some shots of the field on NFL network and it actually looks pretty good right now, considering they’ve kept a tarp over it and they’re going to heat it up for the game.

Imagine that, a heated field.

by thwalls on Dec 20, 2009 10:47 AM EST up reply actions

considering the eagles won a shootout on a wet turf field...

I’m not going to worry a whole lot about the conditions today

If we need advantages to beat the 49'ers then this team is going nowhere

I’m happy the game got moved up. Let the 49’ers get back into their normal time. I don’t want no injuries on both sides (though I saw Celek listed as questionable?). 1 on 1, fair game that’s what i want to see. We’re a better team, and I still think this game won’t even be close, but I want both teams at 100%.

Field conditions

Being that I am down visiting family who lives more in central PA, we get the Philly broadcast here and as you could imagine, the field conditions were a huge topic discussed. From what I can tell, the field actually looks really good. Honestly, with the technology they have working for them this day, they are going to be able to keep the field in the greatest conditions possible. As long as the weather during the game holds up, the field should hold up….unfortunately, as the only chance the Niners have against the Eagles is that.

Oh, and like I predicted weeks ago Philly nation, it will come down to week 17 for the division title. And I wouldn’t have it any other way, as if this Dallas team wants to prove they are, as the dough boy called them, “winners”, then win when the moment presents itself.

Its not gonna matter cuz we'll beat Dallas week 17

Dont get to high on the Boys because they beat the Saints. Had the Redskins not absolutely imploded they shouldve beat em a couple weeks ago

I still truly believe that Wade Phillips simply cannot win a playoff game

I hope he coaches in Dallas forever

Agreed

I’m starting to get tired of some Eagles fans getting paranoid about everything that comes by. Last nights game against of the Saints vs the Cowboys should have shown that nothing is a given and if you have to earn it then earn it. The eagles have as much talent as any team in the league and we have the ability to rule this game. All we have to do is do it. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!!

im wit u mac..........

Desean is a fukin SAVAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If anything all last nights game proved 2 me was the NFC is up for grabs and i like our chances, all we need 2 do is tighten up the defensive play and were good. Did i mention 2 u that i was at the Giants game last weekend, dude the Giants fans might be as bad as rowdy eagle fans, they were complete scumbags throwin rocks at my cousins car and other shit. Had i not wanted 2 see the game i just might have broken a beer bottle over a couple doushbags faces.
