David Akers named NFC special teams player of the month
One of the unsung stories of this Eagles season has been the re-emergence of kicker David Akers. For the past few seasons we've all seen him go through inconsistent patches and struggle with kicks beyond 40 yards. But this year, he's really regained his form.
Placekicker David Akers has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Month for November after he connected on all 13 of his field goal attempts and 11 of 12 extra points. Akers currently leads the NFL with 101 points scored and in total field goals (24), ranks tied for first in the league with 11 field goals of 40-plus yards and is fifth in the league with a field goal percentage of 88.9 (24 of 27 field goals made).
Akers is just one FG away from his own team record 17 straight. He's also the second Eagle to win special teams player of the month, the first being Desean Jackson in September

Hes the real reason we've been able to win games
Akers has been stellar this year, remember last year when he blew it we always lost those games.
“Akers is just one FG away from his own team record 17 straight”
Pretty easy to do that when 89% of em are 25 yards or shorter…
sign that man now

Now this is why
I have an Akers jersey. Everyone asks why I would have a kickers jersey but it’s legit when he is the leading scorer on your team, getting NFC player of the month and right now I think he actually has the NFL record for most consecutive field goals (18) which was done last year (including the post season). Obviously he is a Pro Bowl kicker who wins us a lot of games. Without him… who knows.

that raiders game still bothers me

I understand the frustration of that game and him missing a couple but if he wouldn’t of scored any points that game we still would of lost cause our Offense wasn’t productive. The only points we had on the board were his. Its not his fault we lost that game. Although if he would of made all the FG’s we would have won.
