Official snowed in for Saturday Night Football thread

Here in the Northeastern part of the United States we're all snowed in.... and it just so happens the NFL scheduled a game tonight!

Even better, it's Cowboys vs Saints in New Orleans! So make a cup of hot chocolate, pour a glass of a brandy and let's watch Dallas get beat!

Honestly, I really can't stand the Saints.. but as is the case with any team playing Dallas, I'm a fan tonight..

Sad to say that I get to see the sixers tonight, one of the few times this season and I’ll be enduring that punishment

Is there any way that both teams can lose?

I hate the Cowboys because… well, duh. I hate the Saints on general principle, and because my wife is a Panthers fan. So I guess I’d rather the Cowboys lose, but quite frankly neither outcome makes me happy. I guess I’ll root for a tie.

Cheerin for the saints. I’d rather see the Cowgirls lose. Plus, the Saints might be more inclined to flop in the Post- Season if they go unbeaten. Which would help the Eagles out!

Anyone else thing the Cowboys have a real shot at winning?

As much as i hate to say it, the Saints have looked quite vulnerable past few weeks (though to be honest, looking at their record, they don’t seem thatttttt impressive)

by Team Serbia on Dec 19, 2009 8:10 PM EST reply actions

Of course they do...

The Saints are far from invincible. Should be a competitive game, although I see a 10-point Saints win.

by JimmyK on Dec 19, 2009 8:18 PM EST up reply actions

the Saints have looked quite vulnerable past few weeks..!?!

What the first or second game of the season when the LIONS of all teams put up some big numbers and pts against the Saints. The Saints offense is not very vulnerable..but their D (despite their “turnovers”) have always look suspect! They say our defense is not championship caliber right now…Look at the Saints!! Madd teams have put up big numbers and pts against their defense! At least our defense has held many opponents to and average of 17-20pts! The Saints D gets straight up molly-whopped more times than not! If they didnt have Brees…The Saints would be struggling right now. Brees keeps them in the game.

Cowboys had a weird look on the O Line that play...

They had 2 extra blockers to the left of Flozell Adams on the O Line. They moved Doug Free over there as well as keeping a TE in on that side to block.

If there’s any kind of silver lining to that last TD from a Cowboy-hater perspective, it’s that they clearly have no confidence in Flozell’s ability to pass block.

Keep an eye on that the rest of the game.

Dallas likes to run a play where they send Witten on the underneath route to the sideline just past the sticks, and if the corner commits to Witten they hit the open receiver (also on the sidelines) further up the field.

Lets b real…The Saints could honestly care less if they lost this game. They will be happy to get a loss outta the way to try on take some of the pressure off them from a mental stand point! Of course they would like to get a win..but they already have a playoff spot and it’s really no worries for them til the playoffs!

why does Brees have a bad game? Cause he just played poorly? Did he maybe play another team on the other side of the ball that may have had a little effect on the play of the offense?

About Your D

U guys did get some pressure on Brees! That was the Olines fault though. But again…they media claimed that the Saints O-Line was the Best in the NFC as Brees hardly EVER gets sacked! Again, this is why I get a kick outta the media! ha

But the Saints have been showing cracks for weeks now; they almost lost to the Redskins for Christ’s sake and only were able to come back because the kicker missed a FG.

What is it with our division and FG kickers with the game on the line?

Well consider we lost last week

and we hear the other side of it all week long , so why not say we won? lol

"When people talk about Super Bowl dynasties they mention the 1970's Steelers, 1980's 49ers, 1990's Cowboys and the current New England Patriots, but nobody has dominated the Super Bowl like Anheuser-Busch. In recent years, Budweiser has been the MVP of Super Bowl advertising -- making another company the favorite to win the Ad Meter poll was never an option."

i agree, you guys played very well

but what i am getting at is that it seems to ESPN like Tony Romo won the fucking Nobel Prize or something amazing like that.

Can’t we just say you guys played a good game and leave it there?

by alcatraz0109 on Dec 19, 2009 11:56 PM EST up reply actions

fair enough

but Romo has played good the last two weeks and they are bash him for losing in Decemeber. So we can bash him but no praise? That seems about right when it comes to him. Really it doesn’t matter. He is performing at a high level and the team played good.

Just curious, After hearing Payton’s post game interview. Why is it the team that loses is never because they got beat but always an excuse that the losing team played poorly? Does a losing team ever play well and the team that won just made plays? Just funny how that always works.

He has had over 100 passer rating in each Dec game this year

we may have lost two of them, but those were not the fault of Romo.

The Knights season may have just ended, but the Cowboys year is just begining!
