Don't expect to see Brian Westbrook this weekend
There has been some rumblings that Brian Westbrook may be ready to come back this weekend, but today's comments from Andy Reid don't appear incredibly optimistic.
Eagles coach Andy Reid said the concussion tests on running back Brian Westbrook are "better, but not all the way there." Asked if he were planning to play without Westbrook on Sunday against San Francisco, Reid said, "I am today ... It's a day-to-day thing." Westbrook will practice with scout team again today, Reid said. Reid said the team is "just getting him back into football shape."
I want to see Westbrook back and healthy, but mostly because I like the guy and I want to see him ok... Honestly though, does anyone think he's needed from a football standpoint?

Save Him
Rest him, get him back in shape and his head back on right… pop him in either against the Cowgirls or Playoffs, when was the last time he was well rested and not dinged up in January?

He'll be back during the playoffs
And I’m OK with that.

Not so sure...
I’m happy if he is playing playoffs. However, it would be much better to have him play a game before the playoffs so he can get his confidence back and adjust to the speed of the game. I am not so sure he would fit right in a faced-paced playoff game and immediately be effective. I’m afraid I don’t believe Westbrook will have a major impact this season.

I agree, lets save him
Too risky to play him as of now. We’ve seen what happens when we rush him back. I dont want to make that mistake twice

save him
the worst thing you can do is rush him back, plus if for some reason shady or the weave go down before the post season, you know you have a seasoned veteran, who besides concussions has to be pretty well rested. And in past year’s a healthy westbrook equals Eagles wins

Shady's Doing Great But...
Westbrook is better at this point in both players career, not to mention with our wide outs banged up we could split Westbrook out since he is a great receiver .

Is that official??
Last I heard, he had “Life-Threatening Injuries”
Wow…
The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to have a running back and a wide receiver with 500 yards apiece in the same season before their 22nd birthdays.

The “Died” report was from a fake twitter account.
Hopefully it doesn’t come true.

Just read
that he is on life support with head injuries after falling out of the back of a pickup truck in a domestic dispute with his wife.

Yeah
It’s like how the Cardinals developed a running game in the playoffs and how the Edge, seldom used, suddenly was effective and no one expected it.
It’d be nice to win the NFC East and make the playoffs and be like, “Oh yeah, Westbrook’s back. Deal with that too bitches.”

"Oh, that's too bad..."
“What’s the matter, Vikings? Brian and his fresh legs too fast for you? Hmm? You don’t like to be beat by the same team in the same building in consecutive years by the same player? Awww, that’s too bad. Brian’s been saving up something special for you all autumn long. We hope you like it…”

I agree, rest him
The man knows how to play football. Rest him until he’s 100% in shape. He may not play games but as long as he isn’t retired he can still coach the hell out of shady which is almost worth keeping him on the roster in itself.

I would Love to Have him for the Playoff Run
But the longer it goes the more concerns I have for his health. Heres to hoping he has a full speed recovery whether he gets back on the field or not.
