Jackson Given 4th Award of Season

There has been no question that DeSean Jackson (pictured) has been the explosive weapon of the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense, but the 2nd-year Wide Receiver has also been a huge factor in terms of returning punts. Today, he was named Special Teams Player of the Week, the 4th award he’s received from the NFL all season. His 72-yard kick run-back for a touchdown against the Giants in last week’s 45-38 victory made him the clear choice for the honor, and it only solidifies what has been a remarkable season.

He previously was given awards in Week 1 vs. the Panthers (85-yard punt return for a TD), Week 7 against the Redskins (69 receiving yards, 67 rushing yards, 2 TD), and for the month of  September in which he managed to keep the league’s top punt returning average. Through 12 games this year (he missed one with a concussion), Jackson has notched 8 total touchdowns and 50 receptions for 947 yards.

No offensive player of the week consideration?

His 6 receptions for 178 yards and a TD, long 60 yds., average 29.7, don’t even tell the story how much he stood out. Jackson jogging backwards into the end zone was maybe the highlight of an already memorable offensive shootout.

What?

Jackson won NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Even so, they are not in the same conference, so what Marshall did is irrelevant to what DeSean did.

That punt return earned him #1 on the top ten plays of the week on NFL.COM as well. Everyone else on the field seems to be in slow motion when he is at full speed. Everyone on the tube is saying him and Chris Johnson are the most explosive players in the game. Fully agreed.

Both!

His TD catch and punt return are both on the NFL’s top ten plays.

Not really.. The eagles are smart enough to know most of our wins are

because of him.. They will take the bank to Jackson and hammer out a deal most likely during this offseason or next offseason..

Jackson will get payed, we will be happy and the Cowboys will continue to lose in December.

he should have gotten offensive too

The only 2 ahead of him in receiving yards last week were in the AFC. You could make a case for Gore but id much rather DeSean have it

RIP Jim Johnson. You will truly be missed.
