good that AZ lost and we have a (small) chance for 2nd seed in the NFC (stupid bengals). bad that they still think they can make the playoffs, therefore causing a tougher matchup this week.

Neither team looked impressive. Any team can win the game when the opponent turns the ball over 7 times. I gotta say, Gore is one heck of a back. Great mix of power, speed, and elusiveness.That goal line TD at the end was all muscle and willpower. Vernon Davis as I called it before the season, when everyone called me crazy, is one of the top 3 tight ends in football. We need to contain Gore and Davis. That is the NIners ENTIRE offense. Plus they are traveling over 3000 miles to play us, they have lost 5 straight road games prior. Not concerned at all about next week.

I’d MUCH rather get the 3 seed and face the Cowboys/Giants than get the 4 seed and have to play the Packers.

SF is coming off a good win, a defib to their playoff hopes… Any win by Arizona or loss by them though pretty much kills them off. They’ll be fighting… and have their own momentum leading up to meet ours head on next week.

The thing that has kept me from getting too worried by the SF win… Their offense. Removing the Arizona punts and kickoffs after their point drives … Arizona gave SF them the ball 8 times (includes 1 half opening kickoff)… the 49ers only had 24 points, an average of 3 pts per. The reality is actually 2.0 pts per good possession (12, if you exclude those 2 possessions @ end of halves).
