Extensions
Another fantastic win for the Eagles tongiht. Defense was not as stout as I would have liked however, when the offense can keep firing like they did tonight to pick up the slack of the defense, then i feel good!
Now to the question at hand. I am wondeirng about the potential of any extensions currently in the works....
I see a handful of pressing matters.
Both Leonard Weaver and Jason Avant are in the last years of their contracts with the Eagles. I think they are both invaluable members of this team. I would hope you all agree but both of these players need to be extended.
Obvisousy, the next question is what is our plan at QB beyond 2010. Both McNabb and Kolb are in their 2nd last year of their contracts. Where do we go from here? I love McNabb and always have......... I hope he retires an Eagle. If that is the case, he needs an extension. If not, Kolb needs one.
So, does anyone know anything that is going on with any of these guys... Weaver, Avant, McNabb, or Kolb? Any input is appreciated!

I don’t think there will be any more extensions until after the season is over. I do hope we re-sign Weaver and Avant but I doubt it happens during the season.
The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to have a running back and a wide receiver with 500 yards apiece in the same season before their 22nd birthdays.
Weaver is going to be tough to resign after these past few weeks
He’s been playing VERY well and will command top dollar.
They'd be silly to let either of these guys walk...
Weaver’s already come out and said he’d like to stay in Philly. It sounds like if the Eagles are even reasonable in their approach to resigning him, he’ll be back. I hope he isn’t just saying that without meaning it. He passed on other offers in the off-season to come to Philly because he didn’t want to be made premier back; he wanted the exact role he has now (at least, that’s what I’ve heard him say in interviews).
Avant has really blossomed this year. I liked him last year, but have LOVED him this year. He doesn’t mind taking a hit in the middle of the field.
Smack it up, flip it, rub it down... OH NOOOooo!
The next Vick trade
is going to get something really special for the Eagles. He’s doing his job now. And that means he’s looking very marketable. He’ll be first string somewhere next year and we will have a star or an nice high draft pick for our troubles with him. What team is dying for a quality QB now and happens to have a great Safety, Linebacker or DE that we need?
I can’t wait to see Kolb playing first string one day, but for now Donny’s the man.
I truely feel that
the eagles will throw the money his way. He’s improved our running game by blocking for McCoy and occasionally Westbrook, He is our short yardage back and is damn good at it. He can also catch like a monster out of the backfield and he bust giant plays no other FB can…
Give the man the money..
thats Cobb on Kolb crime if you ask me... as said by yophillybro
Yeah I feel ya
But don’t you think someone is going to overpay for him? I don’t think we’re going to match a ridiculous offer.

no, just give him the money...
He will be more comfortable here where he is making plays and fits into the system like a foot into a sock…
No, if he decides to except some rediculous offer there are other alternatives… (cough cough conner from kentucky cough cough.)
