Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

The best part of these past 4 games is

Even if we're not playing great ball at times, we're still winning tight games. The mid season Eagles and Eagles teams of the past found ways to lose these games. Usually when the stars align themselves the Eagles let us down...however,  We're not giving up huge plays on S/T and for the most part we're not turning the ball over.

Since, I get crushed for saying anything negative about McNabb -- I'll say it: He played great tonight besides maybe two whole throws and one could've been on Celek.

Oh, and ALL HAIL DeSean Jackson. 250+ all purpose yards? Oh, are we all convinced that Vick can help us make plays now? I hope so.

The only down side is our defense looks so ridiculously bad I can't remember a game where they gave up 500+ yards.. Sheldon needs to get healthy FAST  coming down the stretch since he's vulnerable to the big play.Maybe Jordan was a bit rusty? Who knows.

What a crazy game, good game all.

Well Said Man

I sometimes bash Mcnabb but deep down I love the guy..no homo…He is frustrating to watch at times and I too have called for Kolb but the fact is Mcnabb is playing great right now!

Yep

Good to see that we’re pulling out these close games. I was half-expecting to see Eli’s last throw get turned into a TD. We really have to do something about our defense. Looked like Swiss cheese out there tonight.

Felt good being on the other side of a time-killing, methodical drive to pull out the win. Well done.

Those Michael vick plays

The first pass to desean jackson and that reverse pass that was intended for vick but mcnabb cud only dump off to celek look lethal too…

I want the saints to go undefeated, that way it’ll be even more badass when we beat them in the dome in the playoffs

That 44-6 eagles cowboys game on Dec. 29/2008 was the best game i've ever seen

well, i'll say this

championship contending teams find ways to win games when they are down (redskins), blowouts (falcons) and when you play bad down to your potential (tonight)

"It's unfortunate that happened. That's no excuse. Absolutely no excuse."

In all seriousness though

Did anyone see the look McNabb had after the Giants went up 31-30? He looked pissed.

I’ve never, ever seen that look before these past few weeks. The man legitimately looks like he’s on a mission for the first time in his career.

I saw that and it was pretty refreshing! The whole offense seems to have a swagger right now. That first drive was a pure thing of beauty.

Smack it up, flip it, rub it down... OH NOOOooo!

+100000. Usually when McNabb does/sees something bad he usually smiles and keeps going, and that pisses me off. Tonight he showed Championship poise to score and keep scoring.

He was so pissed that the next play he throws a bomb to Desean for a TD!! LOL
Too easy!

Andy Reid is 43-5 when running the ball at least 30 times in a game( Ray Diddy on Eagles Post Game Live after Bears Victory)

Kolb

must be frustrating for Kolb to watch Vick step ahead of him in for these trick plays. But you can’t argue with the results the last couple of games. I keep expecting to see Vick in as a wasted play but give him his due, he is producing now.

by EANX33 on Dec 14, 2009 12:47 AM EST reply actions

As poorly as Vick was being implemented into the offensive flow early in the season

That’s how good it is now. Reid’s pushing all the right buttons with him.

by cwel87 on Dec 14, 2009 12:50 AM EST up reply actions

I think Kolb knows the deal

Vick is being signed cheap, refurbished and sold to the highest bidder. By the time Kolb would even have a shot at doing anything Vick will already be sold for a pick and used to get a new player.

I’m guilty of writing Vick off, but I’m here to eat crow. I’m still not a fan of his, but we are finally starting to see him execute more and show his value. Vick has begun to do well and I’m happy to see the new dimension he’s brought to the offense. The plays he is making are coming at the right time and I’ll admit I was wrong.

Smack it up, flip it, rub it down... OH NOOOooo!

Andy

gave a press conference where he said it was only about 2 weeks ago that he felt Vick was really up to full speed.

I guess that’s what he was waiting for.

"What did it feel like? That collision, I didn't feel nothing, because he was pretty much defenseless. It was like running through a cardboard box. Seriously. Cardboard box."- Sheldon Brown on his pounding of Reggie Bush in the '06 Playoffs

won’t happen.

The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to have a running back and a wide receiver with 500 yards apiece in the same season before their 22nd birthdays.

thanks mate

god sportsmanship… i was reading and saw that most cowboy fans wanted us to win to better their chances at a wildcard spot or division lead. g-men have you guys beat with the tiebreaker and i know you all don’t want it to come down to that. just thought it was funny to see you guys saying “go eagles” haha

I don't remember why someone...

gave me a hard time for saying Joe_D writes good posts last week, but this is my justification. Good post, Joe.

This team is showing that it can go toe to toe now and win; to take set backs, bad calls, and blown plays, come from behind, and regroup. It was very cool to win after giving up 500 yards because Offense and Special Teams picked up the slack. (It was not so cool to give up 500 yards, though.)

We have ourselves a much more balanced team now. The Giants tested us to the limit and they are due some props here. This game kind of reminded me of the New Orleans game when they beat us after we put great Offensive numbers. This time we were the team that showed enough balance to pull it through. The D needs some work again, but I trust that with Sean McD they’ll find the answers.

Did anyone notice the refs

missing like 3 pass interference calls on Celek??? He got mugged going down the middle deep, he got mugged twice in the redzone… The officiating was terrible.

thats Cobb on Kolb crime if you ask me... as said by yophillybro

by wild_eagle on Dec 14, 2009 7:18 AM EST reply actions

seems to follow a common theme

i can’t remember one game recently where i was happy with the officiating. except maybe the falcons game. didn’t matter WHAT the refs did at that point
