What does that punch at the end of the game mean?

Anyone have and idea what the typical punishment for throwing a punch Trent Cole did is? Will he miss next week too? It didn't look like the worst thing in the world to me, I mean Ohara definitely hit him in the face first.

It would suck to see a suspension of Cole for more than the 8 last seconds of this game. Our defense is scaring me because it seems a little porous as it is.

Doubt we see a suspension

He’ll pay a very hefty fine (~$50k). But for a first offense, given precedent, I highly doubt he’s suspended.

we'll see what Dictator Goodell decides

We should send him a gift basket or sacrifice a lamb or something.

Flozell sets the precent

Mutliple offenses and no suspension. I can’t remember Cole having a big issue like this before. Especially since it was retaliation, he’ll get a hefty fine and a stern talking to, but no suspension. Even from Herr Goodell.

Flozell plays for the Cryboys.

Of course he gets a slap on the wrist.
Hopefully Trent only gets a fine. Hopefully.

Thankfully San Fran is next week.

Tommy Harris

punched a downed lineman and got a fine and an ejection. I am hoping it’s left at that.

Smack it up, flip it, rub it down... OH NOOOooo!

Hopefully he wont be suspended

Luckily we’re playing a weak SF team…But stil, with our D, we need everything we got. Hopefully its not a trap game either

Hopefully he just gets a fine. We keep talking about a rusher opposite Trent, but if we lose Trent himself we have a problem. Flozell just got a fine, so I don’t see Trent getting more

It means nothing... Absolutely nothing...

Many reasons…

- He’s a model player (I don’t think he’s ever been fined).
- The fight was started when David Diehl punched Chris Clemons in the back.
- Recent precedence says that if Flozell Adams (a repeat offender whose act was much worse than Cole’s) doesn’t get suspended, there’s no way Cole can be suspended.

Personally, I don’t even see a big fine here. $25K, maybe. No need for worry here whatsoever.

That Was Scary

That game scared me but I can’t say I’m worried about the defense. Every team is due for a shoot out at least one time in the season and hopefully that was our only one. If anything it showed me how good this offense can really be. We obviously missed Maclin (no offense to Reggie but that play where Donovan overthrew him, if that were Maclin, I believe it would have been 6), hopefully his injury gets better quick and we tighten up on defense. Great game, but if its any consolation, I never want to see a game like that involving the Eagles again this year. I almost crap myself like 10 times. I don’t think the call against Trent will carry over. But ill also pray it doesn’t either.

Trotter wasn’t suspended after the Falcon game in 2005.

Hey Jason, it was cool to hear the voice of the man behind the site on the Eagles Fan Cast podcast. Just thought I’d throw that out.

Vick-Lash?

The officials have not been showing us much love this year. I’m thinking of all those bad ‘in-game’ calls and that banned substance suspension with Hanson. I’ll wait and see. Someone said it might be backlash from the Vick trade. That’s possible. If they suspend Trent, we might have to call this a case of ‘Vick-lash’.

Well here is what I think will happen...

Cole will have to speak with the media and play the “i wasnt thinking… Im sorry about it… I called O’hara and apologized” card… Then he will have a fine worth $20-50k and a warning not to do it again…

I think he really came in the defense of Witherspoon, O’hara was going after spoon after just about every play, if it wasnt him it was most definantly someone else.. But I truely think Cole came in the defense of Spoon.

thats Cobb on Kolb crime if you ask me... as said by yophillybro

$7.5K...

Matt Mosley’s guess, as Cole is not Fuzzy Adams.

Also league sources are saying no plans for any suspensions… I just posted a FanShot on it

FanShot

It links to the report from ESPNs NFC East Blog, which relays info told to the Daily News from a spokesman at the league office… I hope it’s true.
