we scored on a punt return and a defensive TD, looks like either offense can do whatever it wants to do.

if we give up 31 or more, we shouldn’t be expecting to win.

Plus we can always go for 2 and get it back. We’ve got a 45% chance!

Weaver

Is effective running the ball because this line doesn’t create huge holes and Weaver hits them. McCoy doesn’t have the strength to break tackles and he wastes way too many carries.

Happy about the win. Offense looked great. DJAX is a player. Defense needs to look in the mirror and figure it out. Playoffs looking likely, but without a major defensive turnaround, it might be a short January.

I was thinking the same thing, we had a game like this last year against Dallas in week 2 where we kept going back and for on points. But the next week we came in and held the Steelers to 9 points (I think)

Bye bye Trent Cole

Great game from both teams, and I’m not doing this to start anything(as I have on record that I felt that Flo should have been suspended) but what Cole did was just moronic and WILL result in him getting some hefty fine, especially considering the punching took place way after the initial melee broke out. Just a pure idiotic move by Trent Cole, and the Eagles will feel his loss if he is suspended.

On the other hand, thank you guys for starting to bury the Giants. Make that playoff path for Dallas a little easier.

by immynimmy on Dec 13, 2009 11:57 PM EST up reply actions

Hence why I said I think that Flo should have been suspended after that recent incident. What he did was stupid, and on the same level as Cole.

Not even close to the same level as Flozell Adams.

by JimmyK on Dec 14, 2009 12:03 AM EST up reply actions

-Andy Reid

by immynimmy on Dec 14, 2009 12:04 AM EST up reply actions

True

But this is simply the case of the commissioner being a moron who is in way over his head at his job. But your splitting hairs to disagree here, both of the actions were idiotic, unneeded, and negatively reflect on the men. Both men should be suspended for the actions, at least for a half. And sadly, both men weren’t/won’t be.

by Zach22 on Dec 14, 2009 12:07 AM EST up reply actions

Haha...
and I’m not doing this to start anything

No? Then why does your subject say…

Bye bye Trent Cole

Anyway, he’ll a model player, it was a couple punches in a fight in which both sides were involved. He’s isn’t getting suspended.

And by the way, not to “start anything,” your December woes continue. Yay.

by JimmyK on Dec 13, 2009 11:59 PM EST up reply actions

Are you kidding me?

Clemmons was punched in the back, Cole came up and said don’t do that, then he was pushed in his facemask. Yeah, he shouldn’t have retaliated, but he didn’t start it. Flo was much worse- unprovoked.

by Imp on Dec 13, 2009 11:58 PM EST reply actions

Cole will get suspended because he ran in from a long way off and then punched the guy twice. If Cole was standing around jawing with someone and they pushed each other and he did one of those hand to the face not quite a punch thing I think it would be different, but the NFL is probably going to want to strongly discourage anyone outisde of a scuffle to get involved so the things arent escalated at all.

Eagles have 3 tough games coming up too, and nothing is decided etc.

But this was an awesome win!

by Whack8888 on Dec 13, 2009 11:59 PM EST reply actions

Hopefully he does just get a hefty fine, may 50 K or something bigger and the league thinks that is a big enough deterent.

Plenty to go around

Mikell – 2 holding calls, personal foul, and a huge “ole” on a huge broken play. Non-factor in the running game

Brown – Worst game of the year. Playing on a bad hammie but he got beat early and often tonight. Simply gave up on that Manningham TD that got over-turned.

D-Line – No one played well.

Only guy I thought that played well tonight on defense was Trotter. He generally did a decent job of tackling and fufillig on his basic role.

by MG77 on Dec 14, 2009 12:26 AM EST up reply actions

Plus he almost had a pick

He’s usually not even close enough in coverage to drop a pass that hits his hands :)

I love him against the run though.

Guys have since gone down, but I don’t blame them for looking at Jackson/Maclin/Avant/Curtis/Brown and not making a move.

Curtis should be available soon, but I wonder how much he’ll contribute.

Hopefully we get Maclin back at some point. He’s been a nice contributor for a rook in the Eagles’ system.

Eagles' defense

Should look better against the more conversative play-calling and the thoroughly mediocre 49ers offensive line.

If the Niners move the ball up/down the field against the Eagles and Alex Smith has a big day, I might get worried a bit about the defense.
