Sunday games open thread
There's no Eagles until tonight, so we get to enjoy a day of Sunday football. Undoubtedly the game most Eagles fans will have their eye on is the 4:15 matchup between the red hot Chargers and the Dallas Cowboys. Interesting little factoid about that game from the NFL.
The San Diego Chargers, who can clinch a playoff spot this weekend, have won 15 consecutive December games dating back to 2006, the longest streak in NFL history. The previous mark was set by the 1968-1972 Dallas Cowboys, who won 13 games in a row during the month.
More on that game after the jump
"We always look to play our best football in December," says San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson who leads the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in December since 2000. "That’s when we want to be at our best. We focus more in December because we know what’s coming up."
Winners of 15 consecutive games in December, Tomlinson and the Chargers aim to ride that momentum to a fourth consecutive AFC West title.
"We seem to finish strong," says Tomlinson. "We’ve talked about it and really made it one of our mottos. I think that has a lot to do with our mindsets in December. We want to play our best football in December going into January. This team is a real focused team, and we have a knack for really taking it one game at a time and taking that idea to heart."

Bengals or Vikings?
I say Bengals
"The punt to DeSean Jackson. The punt. Short, Jackson takes it at the 32. Looks for running room, reverses the field. He's at the 40. 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, He's gonna go!
"McNabb in the shotgun again. McNabb takes the snap, fakes, he's back, he's looking, he is going deep for DeSean Jackson, who races, has it! TOUCHDOWN!!! DeSean Jackson!!

What game should I watch…Saints Vs Ryan- and Turner-less Falcons, or Bengals Vs Vikings…
Go Bengals.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.
Tough call. The Viking’s game has more of an effect on the Eagles, but I’m personally watching the Saints/Falcons game because it’s loaded with fantasy players I own.

Heh. I just brought up that game because it’s going to be a worse blowout than the Eagles-Falcons game last week. Bengals and Vikings should be a good game as least.
But have fun with your fantasy players.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.
Redman actually got the Falcons into the redzone, even though they only left with 3 points

Uh, no
Depending on how one feels about TCU, the Cowboys may not have the best team in the state.

Nope, living far away from the Philadelphia TV market, prime time games are the only guaranteed games I get to see…and I missed MNF because of class…

That’s retarded. The only mother fucker who likes staying up til midnight to watch the Eagles are the ones without jobs or the lazy kids who schedule their classes late.

You’re making a boatload of assumptions and again presuming that everyone is like you, hopefully that’s not true.

Hope so
I think Palmer is over rated. I harp on McNabb for being inconsistent and inaccurate but Palmer has been taking the cake these past couple weeks.

Favre throws a should have been interception into the end zone…Bengals guy couldn’t hold on…only thing I want to see more than the cowboys repeat their December follies is Favre repeating what he did with NYJ last year

I won't
But they’re both unbelievable. Three of the four most gifted receivers to ever play the game are currently in the NFL (Moss), and two are in their primes.
Enjoy it, fellas.
Are the receivers getting better or are the rules making them look better because they continue to strip defenses of ‘tools’ they had in the past?

After getting the defensive stop and holding the Favres to a FG Cincinnati goes and gives the ball back and puts the Vikings in immediate FG range.

The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to have a running back and a wide receiver with 500 yards apiece in the same season before their 22nd birthdays.
good to see him moving around and talking
hopefully its mostly precautionary. they don’t screw around with these injuries

Yeah it’s tough to say but it looks like he’ll be okay. They always have to take extra precaution with those injuries. Good to see him moving and in good spirits considering the circumstances though.
