The Eagles have activated WR Jordan Norwood from the practice squad to fill the hole left by DeSean Jackson as he recovers from his concussion. That makes four receivers who will definitely be able to play on Sunday: Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, Reggie Brown and Norwood. CB Ramzee Robinson has been released to make room on the 53-man roster.

Norwood is a class act

Of course many of you will not get excited about this move, but this guy has talent, and is a respectable man off the field. Previously spoke to him in an interview for my site, and he is ready to play.

As long as celek is in, we have three more than capable guys out there to catch the ball.

Should've kept Gibson...

So do I, but would have prefered trading somebody else or picks.

I really don’t think that was an option. Besides, what other situations other than this would he actually have seen some legitimate playing time??

Our linebackers were and still are MUCH weaker than our WR’s. Witherspoon makes us a better team than with Gibson on it.

headdesk would you like if our LBs were Gocong, Trotter, and Fokou?

Did I say we shouldn't have traded for Spoon?

When we traded for him, I was one of the most hyped about it. Maybe we could have added a 4th and another player in the deal. Who knows? If Gibson was the ONLY choice, then obviously it was the right one.

What aobut 'Spoon?

Where would the Eagles be without ‘Spoon though at LB? Granted he hasn’t played like the superstar you thought he was but he has been solid as a starter here.

I love Spoon. He is playing great and I still love the trade, just wish somehow we could have kept Gibson.

to think we come this far

Before the season started we had too many WR, now were scrapping for them. We really need to find the vaccine for this injury bug around the Linc.

hank baskett

Does anybody know what happened to Hank Baskett? I don’t see his name in the Colts boxscores? I thought he was a contributor during his days here.

He is indeed on the Colts

but has only made 1 catch for 5 yards for them this season.

Norwood is solid.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes a play or two during his brief stint on the active roster.

Norwood...

seems like a perfect fit for our offense. Great route running, underrated speed, great athleticism, and good hands. Good possession reciever. He’ll make a play or two for us this year.

Can't be any happier about this.

I write over at the Penn State SBNation site and I’m a lifelong Eagles fan, so this is good times for me. Norwood’s not a straight line burner. Smooth is a good word for what he does. He’s quick, smart, and has good hands. He’ll find a soft spot in a zone on 3rd and long. He impressed in Browns camp as a UFA. Real solid guy, so I hope he does well with this chance.

WR Depth thing

Funny how the Eagles had way too many WRs in training camp and had so much depth and now are struggling to find 4 healthy WRs.

by MG77 on Dec 2, 2009 2:04 AM EST reply actions

Norwood!

I watched him for 4 great years when I happened to be at Penn State, he is a great underrated reciever. This guy has amazing hands and is more then willing to catch and hold on to a ball knowing he is going to get popped instantly.

I still remember that one TD catch he had when he caught it on his back with one arm.
