3 things I never want to see again...
1) I never want to see Michael Vick on the field unless Mcnabb and Kolb are both legally pronounced dead.
Hes not the player he was and he wont be this season. Stop disrupting the entire fucking offense so you can run a trick play Douche ! The wildcat is a waste of fucking time and it kills series time and time again.
2) Mcnabb passing 60 percent of the time. It doesnt work against good teams...it never has. Run the fucking ball you fat bastard !
3) Passing on all three downs. This shit never works either...stop trying to outsmart everyone and have some damn faith in your team to just be able to execute a straight up play. You want to do some trickery ? How bout you run the ball and use ...get ready for this...its something big.........PLAY ACTION DUMBASS !
Or continue to try and outsmart the league instead of going with what has worked for DECADES...we have the personnel....the coaches need to put themselves in a better position to not get fired at the end of the fucking season !

and one more thing...
trade mcnabb…don’t put in kolb or anyone else in this year to diminish mcnabb’s trade bait value… but please find some team to pawn him off on next year… get a few good draft choices… anything… but get rid of him…

That was killing me
Empty backfield or not, could it be more obvious that we’re throwing a short pass over the middle?
Making it worse is that Weaver seems to be good for 3 yards every time he touches the ball. I’d give it to dude in short yardage situations til someone stops it.

loll.... certainly a good laff....but
Vick isnt the player he was we all kno that, but he can still play, they just never give him the chance they call him in every fucking 20 plays and have him run like a qb sweep its so stupid/predictable the guy CAN throw the ball they are aware of right?> Its just funny because Michael Vick > the wildcat and our so called “wildcat” looks like shit. Its so sad that ronnie brown and ricky williams run it better than a guy who has been doing this shit his whole career. And Yes maybe if the eagles ran the ball on 1st down like every other fuckin team in the league they wouldnt get put into so many 3rd and 10 situations lollll. Not to mention our run game is only good cuz every team thinks pass the only times we get stuffed is on like 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1

freaking media...
…acts like we are the team that invented passing. Nobody bitched about the patriots throwing 50 times a game in 2007. Any time we have troubles on offense they just go back to the run pass ratio. While at times the run pass is horrendous, this game it wasnt. There were a lot of passes left on the field yesterday, I swear there must have been 10 completions that failed because of a drop or shitty pass.

like you, i am a big mcnabb/reid supporter
i defend these two on a daily basis. BUT, just because someone doesn’t support one of the two doesn’t mean they don’t support the TEAM. at this point in time, there are many visible flaws in both of these two (again, i am a big supporter of both) many people are becoming impatient and i can understand the frustration.
although reid and mcnabb have made countless contributions to the franchise, no one is exempt from criticism.

I like the way you put that. I guess I’m in the same boat as you. I support them and I would wish them success if they left the Eagles, but my loyalty is for the Eagles.

How eloquent and well put....
douchebag, I am an eagles fan, not a donavan mcnabb disciple. Since when does being a fan of a team mean I have to love everyone on that team unquestioningly. I actually do really like mcnabb, hes a great person and athlete, but I dont like the inconsistency. If he can start playing decent on a more regular basis, then great, super bowl here we come. But if he continues to have bad games, why should I follow him blindly, where does this end?
I would rather the eagles win then make sure mcnabb is happy. Maybe we dont have a better option, but if he costs us critical games this year, then I am willing to find out next year.
by Tbot86 on Nov 10, 2009 10:33 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
seriously
do the Raiders have to love JeMarcus? Do the Redskins have to love Campbell? At what point are you allowed to critique the team? You can say that McNabb and Reid have been awesome, and they have, but does that mean they are exempt from being criticized for their whole careers or even lives? What if McNabb wants to be an Eagles QB till he’s 48? Sure, he’ll have lost a step or 7, but hey, he’s the winningest QB with the most records in Eagles history…how can you turn your back on that?

I'm tired of hearing about all the shit about Reid.
If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have HALF the success we’ve had the past 10 years as EAGLES4LIFE referred to. Yea we don’t always have good teams but what team doesn’t. What does bother me is how D-mac has been playing professional football for about 10 years now and he STILL over and under throws receivers and throws right into the dirt.
Don’t get me wrong I’m a McNabb supporter and always have, but he just frustrates me and a lot of people with his inaccurate throws. He always comes through… at least we don’t have Romo (the choke) as our QB. On the bright side we’re still 2nd in our division and have plenty of time to make a run.
by xEdgeCamx on Nov 9, 2009 11:15 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
You can point out flaws with McNabb and Reid...
… without saying you wish we had someone else. Wishing they were at their best isn’t the same as saying ’we wouldn’t have HALF the success" without them.
Look, I’m one of those people who understands you’re not going to have success 100 percent of the time in football, especially in the NFL when you’re playing against another team that’s fairly talented and has an experienced coach and what have you. You can’t win ‘em, you’re not going to be at your best every week and you can’t go firing people or switching quarterbacks every time something goes wrong. Just look at the Redskins.
One of the Eagles’ great attributes is their patience with Reid and McNabb.
That said, for people who’ve invested years watching these guys and knowing their tendencies, it’s fair for them to have complaints. As the saying goes, stupid is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Just because you have those criticisms doesn’t make you a non-fan; in fact, it might be quite the opposite. Anyone who cares to debate the intricacies of Reid’s playcalling and McNabb’s consistency has invested quite a bit of time in watching the guys and cares that they perform at the highest level.
I’m kinda on your side with this thing, but I don’t think the guys on the other side have to agree with us to be true fans. (and I know you didn’t technically say they weren’t, it’s a general comment/tangent)

does anyone think belichek
would put a qb on the field who was as inconsistent as mcnabb or was as poor a decison maker?… not!!!! its time for all true philly fans to get on these blogs and demand some changes be made… if you don’t think your voices are heard you’re wrong… the team monitors these things and while they don’t let the fans run the show they don’t ignore an upheaval of discontent.

Andy doesn't strike me as a democratic type of leader
He doesn’t give a rat’s ass what anyone thinks, and his success is a testament to that. He is a strong leader.
I wish the McNabb supporters would answer two questions:
1. What would McNabb have to do before their support waned? Surely he’s not going to be the QB for 10 MORE years. At some point he will be replaced, so when can we start to ask that question?
2. How did Garcia (who is an inferior QB to McNabb) come in and take a 5-5 to a 10-6 team in ’06? How did Kolb make every receiver on this team look better in two games than McNabb did in 4 (I looked into these stats before the Giants game)?
It seems that we do not need a superstar QB to run a successful west-coast offense. McNabb’s skill set seems best suited for an offense like Pittsburgh’s where they pound a running game to set up big, slow developing play action passes. It doesn’t take anything away from McNabb, it’s just that his skill set, however awesome it is, doesn’t naturally fit a west coast scheme

As a McNabb supporter.. I support him because he is my starting QB. If Reid decides to make that change tomorrow I will trust his decision and support it. McNabb is inconsistent and I can admit that and after this season is over, if he continues down the slope he is on then that will be a time to assess the season and his play and get the next QB ready if that change were to come. That way the other QB has all the off season to prepare. If McNabb dumps the next couple games, the obviously I will want to see what else is out there, as in any remedy to win. At the end of the day I support Reids decision, he sees more than I see and knows more than I know.

I can understand that
that’s why I supported Kolb before his starts…Andy did.
That’s why I supported Lorenzo Booker before he was cut…Andy, who knows a lot more than me, kept him on the team.
I do trust Andy, and if he says McNabb’s the best guy, I understand that his opinion is more educated than mine, and therefore deserves more respect. I’m just frustrated b/c I dont know what to expect week to week with this team, and it seems that our success or failure is almost always a reflection of McNabb’s personal success/failure

I’m just as frustrated. I came into this season honestly thinking that we were going to the superbowl, no doubt about it, based on the talent we had. I don’t wear blinders and I can see that our chances have changed drastically since the season started over some of the teams mistakes. A lot of the mistakes are team mistakes, and its unfortunate that McNabb has also been inconsistent to get the majority of the blame. I understand that he definitely needs to be consistent because I honestly feel when he’s good.. he’s good, and thats what I’m going to be expecting from him for the rest of the season.

This puzzled me last night.
I found it odd that most, if not all (that I remember), of the 3rd & 4th and short plays were run to the right side of the line when most of the Eagles running success, to date, has gone to the left side of the line.
Anyone else notice that, or did I not pay as much attention as I thought I did?
