Most over rated offense ever

This should be the most interesting poll ever on here..

Who was the biggest goat on offense?

a) Maclin for causing a TO which led to 7 points

b) McNabb for being inconsistent yet again.

c) Marty for not calling in more run plays

d) Moise for stupid penalties

e) Andy Reid for not calling enough run plays (This choice is for the dummies who still thinks he calls all the plays still).

This offense is so over rated. I got killed for being negative stating the Giants D was just THAT bad more than the Eagles O was that good. This offense was talked up like it was the Saints offense or the Pats offense of 07. Tired of inconsistent play.

what!!

he broke one screen .. big deal .. he dropped atleast 2 passes .. one would of been a big play ..caught another screen and danced and only got 7 yards where westbrook would of been gone for atleast the 1st prob more .. danced in the whole on 2nd and inches and cost us that 1st down . he missed a block and got mcnabb killed .. so yea .. westy would of one the game .. he dont dance in the damn hole .. atleast he can hit it and pick up a yard .. that was the biggest play in game .. so yea im blaming him and maclin .. maclin cost us 2 picks .. yes 2 .. the first obviously but the second he didnt find the ball and make a play on it .. also his fault .. it would of been an incompletion most likely if he made a play and tryed to catch it .. fuck mccoy .. the only time we picked up the short yardage is when we gave it to my boy weaver .. so u should watch the game more closely before u call me out imp

You mean when
A) He dropped a 3rd down pass that cause McNabb’s first pick?
B) He call McNabb short on fourth and inches?
C) He blew a coverage that gave Miles Austin his only catch on the night, a TD?
D) He didn’t cover Jason Witten on Dallas’ final drive that seal the game?

Those four plays?

or

he couldnt covert 2 n 1 wit a huge hole! .. he danced on a screen where if he went north to south would of got first down .. he missed a block and got mcnabb sacked on 3rd down forcing a punt .. he droped that screen pass when there was no one in front of him for 15 yards atleast .. lets all defend the back whose afraid to hit a hole and dances .. buckley would of been a better option at rb .. hiting one big play dont make u good .. austin had once catch on blown coverage .. hes not good .. roy williams was their best wr like i been saying

ok

You do have a valid point. after that, I have to admit that McCoy was less than stellar…but I think it’s fair to say that this was a team loss. McNabb missed passes, the O-line played poorly (jackson didn’t snap the ball when they drew the boys offside on 4&1). Sheldon bit and gave up a huge play, the run D didn’t stop barber when they needed to…the list goes on. I’m pinning this one on poor game planning/execution of game plan. I don’t really know what our goal was as an offense…what were we trying to exploit on their D?

yea

i mean mcnabb wasnt horrible .. two picks and they wernt his fault .. he made some bad decesions .. but he had a lot of drives stoped by stupid plays by mccoy and maclin .. or penaltys and drops .. heremans was getting raped by ware .. thats not mcnabbs fault he had like 2 secs to throw till peters came back .. fokou wasnt very good .. he ran into his own guys a lot .. so did tracy white .. they were bad in coverage .. witherspoon was good .. sheldon was good except for one bad jump of a route .. exactly why i like him more than asante .. cuz route jumping can kill u more than help u .. but he did it and it cost us .. austin didnt do shit .. he got lucky sheldon bit on the double move and that jones missed the tackle

"we dont need a poll'

Not when we have JIBTA opinionfacts. As usual, I disagree with Jibta message and his delivery. It was a team loss.

But I blame the fans. The Linc was a bunch of animals yesterday.

You wouldn’t believe how many fair-weather, Boo-Bird, big-baby, screaming, belligerent drunks there were shouting for Andy Reid to be cooked on spit with an apple in his mouth and for Dovavan McNabb to be slapped to death with IHOP pancakes. A bunch of cannibals were boiling up a huge pot of Campbell’s tomato soup to put #5 in.

It was ugly, I tell you. I think that they would have lynched the entire team if they coulda gotten through security and many of the young fans’ vocabularies have been change for the worst with added color and a lot of four letter nouns. Many fights in the stands, too. This might have been due to the fact that there was a whole day worth of drinking to do before the game.

It’s my thought that you get no home field advantage when the home fans don’t support you. And while there were many die-hard supporters, there were way to many detractors. I love my home team, but I’m not thrilled with my home team fans.

A combination of B and C

but primarily B. The Eagles called about 43% run plays. A little low yeah, but considering we were only averaging 3.8 ypc, that was good enough. Problem is we were calling the wrong run plays and somebody please get Shady some better cleats. It looks like he’s getting no traction out there. Maybe its how shitty the grass is. My lawn looks better than that.

Additionally, McNabb is developing a fetish of throwing to JMac, similar to what he did last year with LJ Smith.

But we have Celek and Avant..

make them pay with the guys they had trouble covering. I swear they were holding Celek the whole night. All McNabb had to do was throw to him and we’d get holdin calls galore.

you're right on the money Joe D,

what a crappy offense! And for those who want to blame the refs, umm..its not their fault. The WR were in fact open, McNabb just missed them too many times. The three biggest reasons we lost were 1) Inability to convert 3rd and 1s and 4th and 1s. 2) McNabb throwing it like a bitch again and missing wide open receivers. 3) Too many mistakes, especially in the form of penalties.

LeSean McCoy was NOT the reason we lost. Granted he didn’t exactly help the cause either.

Bottom line as a team we are better than average. Anyone that thinks we’re a good or great team has some delusions of grandeur.

the best solution would be

to not panic. the second half of the year is our half, and we would still get a WC berth if the season ended today.

8 games to get the kinks out (less if you consider the december playoff push), not time to panic yet.

maclin's drop

i voted for this because it really set the tone early on. sure mcnabb was inconsistant. but everyone knows he has to get into a rhythm. by dropping that ball and causing that pick, maclin caused mcnabb to begin to change his game. let alone the fact that it led to seven.
obviously one play can’t lose a game. but i voted this because i honestly think without this individual play, mcnabb has a better game (and obviously the score may have been different)

by Q27 on Nov 9, 2009 12:29 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Its a combination of everything, including Mccoy

1. Are we really going to blame the refs that we can’t convert short yardage? How the hell do we blow 2 timeouts on 3rd/4th and inches? I don’t care what should have been, those plays should be undisputable conversions.

2. I’m tired of begging Mcnabb to play decent and only see it happen 50% of the time. Dirt balls, can’t lead, and bad throws. Anyone remember the throw to Jackson who was open for the first? Cept it was a good 2 yards behind him.

3. No timeouts at the end of the game when we need them? Big surprise Reid blew them all.

4. Mccoy has to stop dancing, period. If you want to say hes a rookie, then fine, run the ball with Weaver or Buckley. If he’s in the game and making mistakes thats on him. Rookie or not

by Team Serbia on Nov 9, 2009 12:32 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

buckley has done enough in my book to warrant some playing time…that is, I’d like to see him along with weaver start to hammer the ball at the beginning of a game. Mccoy needs to take a seat till he can learn to be more aggresive.

I thank God almost everyday that I wasn't born in Dallas!

i dunno man

i don’t like blaming games on referees. obviously that play was a mistake. but there was a lot of lapses out there. we shouldn’t have put ourselves in position for it to come down to a call by the ref.

Its kind of sad that we had to challenge twice in hopes of getting a few inches…

by Team Serbia on Nov 9, 2009 12:46 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

1- Blaming the refs is a weak argument.
2-Team loss: Play calling was shoddy, we don’t sustain long drives, McNabb was off
3-Seeing McCoy dancing out there reminds me how much I appreciated Correll Buckhalter who took the ball and moved it forward every time he touched it.

mccoy

Hmm, i remember mccoy breaking two tackles on a run in the first half and gaining some great yardage when the play looked like it was dead, that was impressive, the guy had a total of 100 yards receiving and rushing, he more than filled in for westbrook, anyone who thinks otherwise is just plain insane. He does dance a bit, but he is a rookie, he still has all the talents and tools to be a good back in this league, that much is obvious.

Voted McCoy

simply to humor JIBTA…one of the things I’m most disappointed about is not having seen any trick plays with Vick. Sure, tell me how he’s not as fast as he was or that he was never a good passer, I know that, but the guy still has some talent and I figured either this week or last week that we would see some sort of big trick play attempted with Vick when our offense stalled…I still have hope that there is some purpose for him on this team, obviously not major, but some function. It’s obviously not the “goat of the game”, but I feel like it’s an untapped potential of our offense…did anyone else see Pat White running the wildcat today? I’d be fine with anything close to that

McNabb played bad last night. If you don’t admit that, you weren’t watching the same game. The blame can go around, but you might want to lay the blame off the D. They held DAL to 20 when 7 pts were off a turnover. That’s pretty decent play overall. Teams aren’t really supposed to win when they only score 13.

Why isn't anyone on defense listed as a goat?

They could not get the ball back in the waning minutes. They let Miles Austin run free for a TD. It was a team loss. It cannot be blamed on one person, play, play call, the refs, etc. That being said, you can see several different plays that could have gone another way to change the outcome of the game. That is the lone positive I can take from the game.

To address the original point, this is a young offense with a banged up and makeshift O line. McNabb threw some bad passes but he also threw some beauties. He was frequently running for his life. To compare it to the Saints is lunacy, I will agree. However, it does have the potential of being a very good offense if you can get healthy on the O line and get a healthy Westbrook back in the mix. That is reality.

Last night's dismal performance

it seems to me that there is more than enough blame to go around for last night’s game… from AR’s miserable decison making… the inability to convert. on short yardage… Maclin’s dropped pass that resulted in the interception …some poor defensive plays… and, of course, mcnabb’s inconsistent passing… no team is going to win every game… but good teams win the important ones and the eagles too often do not… that’s a fact!!!! the one thing that always stands out in these games is mcnabb’s inconsistency… its the one constant… if the eagles are ever going to be an elite team they need a qb who consistently makes good decisions and consistently throws accurate passes… all the other stuff is just part of the game… coverages get blown… running backs get tackled… blocks get missed… balls get dropped… that’s just football, but a team cannot win often enough against good competition with a qb who lacks consistency… no matter how spectacular he may be on occasion… it dosen’t make up for the 3 and outs when keeping drives going is crucial… it doesn’t make up for the dirt balls….its time to move on… the mcnabb era has to end… maybe the answer is kolb… who know’s??? what we do know it’s not mcnabb… go flyers

i’m not a mcnabb hater…mcnabb is a decent person… good hearted… generous… polite… he’s got courage… and he give’s it his best… unfortunately he too often makes poor decisions… is too often inconsistent… and he’s not going to get any better…

in a perfect world...

mcnabb gets traded for a fistfull of high draft picks…. (assuming the “greater fool” theory applies and some other team wants him) … in a not so perfect world we (the faithful) get a few more years of up and down seasons before he finally retires… the problem is with all the bad teams in the league, its not that hard for mediocre teams to make the playoffs and tease their fans… this is what has happened in philly… and managament/ownership seems perfectly content with that… sadly too many people remember the really dark days before reid and by comparison are satisfied… not me!!! kiss em goodbye and good ridence!!!!

one more thing

to all the mcnabb defenders who said in the past the reason mcnabb was not more successful was because he had a poor supporting cast… you are clearly idiots!!!!. now he has a supporting cast to be envied by nearly every other team in the league and he’s worse than ever… i’m sorry you fools but despite the occasional brilliant play, the endless 3 and outs… the 90 mph dirtballs… the dumbass smile… its time to move on!!!!! mcnabb must bgo…. now!!!!!
