It's Eagles vs. Cowboys! Need I Say More?
“We look forward to the challenge of playing the Cowboys and we know they’re a good football team and our guys have prepared themselves that way, in preparation for a good football team. It should be a great atmosphere. I know our fans will be out of their minds by Sunday night. These kinds of rivals, everybody get excited for.”
Head coach Andy Reid said it best. The above statements were expressed by the Eagles’ staff leader in a recent press conference, and they solidify what has been a build-up of excitement, tension, and an array of many other thrilling emotions. Why all this hype, you ask? Well, simply because the Philadelphia Eagles are facing off with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. If that isn’t enough to persuade you, then perhaps you need to re-think your passionate sense of football knowledge.
Sure, we’ve released everything from the weekly in-depth game preview to individualposition and player breakdowns leading up to tonight’s matchup, but this brief article was designed to bring out the anxiousness in every avid Eagles fanatic. This evening, we will have a chance at both taking sole possession of the NFC East division and also being able to celebrate a satisfying victory over one of our longtime rivals. There have been countless contests between these two enemies, most of which have concluded in a memorable fashion and become part of both teams’ historical list of great games. Again, the intention of this article isn’t to cram any further information on the game out, but simply energize the fan base and realize that it is the Cowboys the Eagles are squaring off against tonight! So, get excited and be prepared to experience yet another heart-pounding division game with potentially significant results on the line. To conclude this hopefully motivating piece, I have listed the last 5 years’ worth of meetings between the Birds and ‘Boys, along with the game outcomes:

Week 2, 2008: PHI-37 DAL-41

I love the Dallas fan coming on here and saying DJack wont have a big day
Here’s some stats for opposing WR’s against Dallas this season.
Week 1/Bucs- M. Clayton 93 yds, with Leftwich throwing to him… LEFTWICH! Come on
Weeks 2/ Giants- Manningham and S. Smith combine for 284 yds
Week 3/Panthers – D. Rosario had 58 yds, I dont even know who that guy is but he seemed to be open whenever Delhomme wasnt throwing interceptions.
Week 4/Broncos – B. Marshall had 91 yds and even Buckhalter had 55. You cant tell me that Westy/Mccoy cant produce better numbers.
Week 5/Chiefs – D. Bowe had 74 yds, nothing great but still good, especially since they like to throw to different receivers like us.
Week 7/Falcons – This game was just plain bad, R. White had the most yds with 50, but Im confident DJack is a much better WR then him.
Week 8/Seahawks – N. Burelson (?) had 89 yds, another guy I never heard of with close to 100 yds that game
"I hate listening to people's dreams. It is like flipping through a stack of photographs. If I'm not in any of them and nobody is having sex, I just don't care. "
yea their secondary is beat
they may dbl cover Djac all day but that should afford Celek and Maclin some opportunities
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
First off DJax is not going to be shut down. We want to limit the damage.
As far as all those guys listed, none of them got the attention I expect DJ to get. DJ will get his catches and yards but limiting the big play and keeping him out of the endzone will go a long way for us. I worry about Celek. He is a smart guy who will keep drives alive allowing more shots down the field. If we have a good game against him you might not get enough opportunities.
You guys are high on him and Mac(rightfully so) but its your D that determines the outcome. If you get pressure you will get some TOs and that always sets the table. If you dont we can score point for point and then some. Its going to be a great game and its these types of games that make me love football. Hopefully it will be an injury free game for both of us.
KICK ASS every day!!!

I know exactly what you mean.
I dont like the Eagles but you have many good posters and good insights. I come here all the time.
KICK ASS every day!!!
Thats pretty much the biggest thing
Getting after to Romo. Hes awful when hes pressured and great when he’s given time. I expect a lot of blitzing
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
Im hoping we come out conservative and play field position. Drain a little emotion out of the crowd.
Run the draw out of the shotgun and easy screens and slow down the rush a little. Run the double TE a bunch.
Defensively, overload on DJ until you get to our 30 and then recommit to the run. Hold you guys to FGs. Hope that the inaccurate Donovan shows up.
Something tells me its going to be a lot harder than that.
KICK ASS every day!!!
kudos to NBC for putting them good games on sunday night
and giving real men something to watch on a Sunday night
