Cowboys' CB Mike Jenkins wants to get physical

via media.avclub.com

Cowboys' CB Mike Jenkins has some tough talk on how he plans to stop the Eagles big play wide receivers...

"Go out and hit them in the mouth," Jenkins said. "Just be physical and hopefully we can shut them down."

Of course, Jenkins isn't all talk. He backs up what he says with some devastating physical play on the field.

That's a clip from last year...

When Jenkins was a rookie and not a starter.

This year he hasn’t missed a single tackle and he’s delivered some pretty nasty hits.

This is a case of hope and false expectations, this is like saying that this is going to happen:

How are you going to compare a play with one guy not even attempting to tackle someone, to a play with a player who would have taken the guys head off?

True, but the end result is the same...

And one guy is a corner (talk to me about Asante “tackling!? tackling!?” Samuel) and the other is a Safety… One of those guys is supposed to be a better tackler… I don’t need to tell you who, right?

You've to go to back to sarcasm 101...

I provided a lowlight from Mikell were he made a Roy Williams impersonation, going for the hit but forgetting that he needed to wrap up to stop one of the League’s best TEs.

The poster here provided a lowlight of Mike Jenkins, which is awful, certainly

You know that Mikell can tackle, I do too. I’m only saying that a lowlight doesn’t determine how a career is going to go. No matter what you hope.

throwing up was a while back too. since you like making references to time. Donovan is a man. he beat the jags on a broken ankle. he’s played this yr with a broken rib. he’s played with a sports hernia. by cwel87 on Nov 8, 2009 3:12 PM EST up reply actions

BREAKING NEWS

Your best moments are in the regular season, unless of course you consider the losses to the Seahawks and Giants losses highlights. And also those superbowls your team won 13 years ago have no relevence to today because not one of the players on the current Dallas Cowboys team has ever won a playoff game aside from some free agent players like Brookings and Olshansky.

And also the Eagles lost 32-25, hardly comparable to a 44-6 shackling.

by d-jackfan10 on Nov 8, 2009 3:12 PM EST up reply actions

GTFO

We can go head to head right now, you can keep busting out McNabb’s moments, but show me one that has cost the Eagles a game? You can’t do it.

On the other hand, there is Romo muffing the hold on a kick and the Seahawks win, or when he threw an interception with less than a minute to go against the Giants on the game winning drive or perhaps the best of all… When Romo came out and crapped his pants against the Eagles last season where he fumbled and threw interceptions all over the place which led to a 44-6 Eagles romping of the Dallas Cowboys and then he collapsed in the shower. And then when he said “Life goes on” proving he is more concerned with his off the field persona than the one on the field.

GTFO you can have Romo and I’ll have the QB who is the least intercepted QB in the history of the NFL and I’ll take the guy that has actually wins games in December and January.

RIDICULOUS!!

How can any Cowboy fan talk about another team, (ANY OTHER team let alone a division rival) the the past 5-6 years. The Cowboys haven’t been to the playoffs nor superbowl game in forever and u talk about another team like all of a sudden u won something special! Not to mention the FACT that the Cowboys weren’t playing to well early this season. And now since they beat 1 SUB-PAR and 2 Not Good teams in a row, they start talkn!! Really! Maybe if they were getting to the playoffs more times than not then I could understand it. I can at least respect that. But talkn about a team when ur OWN team has not been anywhere in forever is just a JOKE! And even we split games again this year, it’s still not a good idea for Cowboys fans to talk. Cuz it’s all about the Playoffs..And until u get there more than once and go far, ur still only just the Cowboys.! C’mon Man, Cowboys fans talk’n it up….CHILD PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only if you’re a Cowboys fan. Take the colors and avatars off of the uniforms. Two teams in nondescript grey.

Now, one team won three championships before the merger. One team one 5 championships, the last one being 12 or 13 years ago.

In that time – one team has 5 NFC Championship appearances and 1 Superbowl appearance, and has been to the playoffs 7 times. One team has yet to record ONE playoff win.

Neither team has won a Superbowl in that time, but you know what? If you ask a fan which team was more successful… he’s picking the one with RELEVANT success, not one you need to invent a time machine to enjoy firsthand.

Does anyone talk about...

Championships before the merger other than Eagles’ fans? It was a different league with a much less professional outlook and a lot shallower talent pool.

It is baffling that Eagles are always so quick to point out that the Cowboys fans live in the past and haven’t done anything in the past 12 years. But the first response to super bowl criticism is .. well..3 championships before the merger…

There is a reason Super Bowls are what counts…ask the Steelers, Niners, Cowboys, Skins, Giants, Pats, Bears…etc etc etc…

Oh, I’m sorry.

I didn’t realize that 40 years ago is way too long to be talking about championships, but 12 years ago is a perfect amount of time to brag about a win.

Because, y’know? Both seem pretty f-ing long ago. So if Cowboys fans are going to bring up “5 Super Bowls!” and live in ancient history, the Eagles can too. The difference between our fanbases? We don’t go “3 Pre-Merger Championships!” because we don’t care about old, stale wins.

Why is the reason that the Championship before it was called a SuperBowl count less? Because it makes your point? I love the arbitrary timelines here.

But it’s ok to bring up the past when it puts the Cowboys in a negative light?

If Dallas runs the table the rest of the way, but loses in the Super Bowl, no real Cowboys fan will be happy. The season will be a failure. Rings are the only thing that matters.

This isn’t a…" OMFG Cowboys are going to OWN THE EAGLES FACES!! " Because frankly the Eagles are playing really well also and for the Cowboys on the road this is going to be a tough game to win. I see it being very close but Philly will really have to be outplayed if they are to lose.

But, people calling Jenkins soft because of one play is getting pretty irritating…he is a tough aggressive and skilled guy..give it time and you’ll all learn to hate him and his skills :)

Jason peters is in his prime at the age of 27..

Flozell Adams is 34 and in his 12 year in the league…

Apples to oranges. Flo still can shut down some of the best outside rushers in the game but undoubtedly he isn’t the same as he was 7 years ago at Peters’ age..

When’s the last time the Cowboys been to an NFCCG..1995! Back when Aaahh!!! Real Monsters and Hey Arnold! had their season premiers on Nick. U wanna talk about the past!!!

Point is, the Cowboys haven’t won anything significant since 1996. And u talk about the Eagles CURRENTLY, in the PRESENT, not being good enough to win a SB RING! Cowboys haven’t been enough to win ANYTHING in the postseason as of late.!
