Pre-Game Dinner Recommendations
I haven't been to a night game before, but I just got tix for Sunday's game. My cousin GAVE me a pair of these tix (sorry - I'm taking the wife) and since the Cuz is coming, too, so I'm looking for recommendations for the best place to take him for dinner, prior to the game. Does anyplace stand out for you as the perfect pre-game dinner?
I am thinking that this will be a great appetizer for a Cowboy Soufle.

Chickies and Pete's
But you’d have to be there really early. You could park at the stadium and walk to Chickies and then walk to the game
I bet you’d want to be there by 5 for dinner though
Dont Disrespect the Level
Chickie and Pete’s absolutely rules, and everyone there will be fired up about the game (it will be like tailgating inside) but I bet it will be absolutely insane all day and probably tough to get in there, even at 5:00. (I will admit I hate crowds and waiting more than most people, but I think Chickie’s will get packed as early as the 1:00 games)
If gameday atmosphere is what you want, there’s no better place. Get the Crab Fries, or you’re wasting our time there. The beer tower mini-kegs are awesome, too. (If they still have those…I haven’t been there in a few years).
If you want something a little quieter, park downtown and take the Broad St. Line (Is the Septa thing still going on?). Here are my three favorite places downtown:
1. Monk’s Cafe
www.monkscafe.com
264 S 16th St
Philadelphia, P.A. 19102
Best burgers in Philly, excellent belgian beer selections. Small and tough to get into, but no TVs, so probably not an insane sports hangout.
2. Black Sheep Pub and Restaurant
theblacksheeppub.com
247 S 17th St
Philadelphia, PA 19103-6314
(215) 545-9473
Also great food and beer selection
3. The Continental Mid-Town
www.continentalmidtown.com
1801 Chestnut St
Philadelphia, PA 19103
Trendy, kind of fake-upscale (I went there after the draft party, so they should let you in w/jersey, hat, etc), takes itself too seriously. But fun. Cheesteak eggrolls, man. You will not regret them.
All 3 within easy walking distance to the Broad St. Line.
Chickies & Pete’s or Tony Luke’s.
Tony Luke’s isn’t a looker by any means but guarantee your cuz will have a sandwich he’ll not soon forget.

Moriarty's Pub
11th and Walnut. It’s not really a football-ish atmosphere (if you want that, look no further than Chickie and Pete’s), but the food is the best I’ve had so far in Philadelphia, and the Irish taps and selection of beers/drinks is really second to none. Anywhere. Except maybe Ireland.
