Around SBN: Has Kentucky Improved Since the Non-Conference Season?

FO ranks Eagles #2, also #13 in the DVOA era (1994 - present)

Read all about it here.

For those curious, the reason we're ranked so high is FO gives high points for stomping opposition into the ground.  Our two losses were fairly close, one being to #3 NO, and all of our wins have been blowouts.  We're basically ranked as co-#1s  with NE, NO, IND, and BALT.  Our defense is #1, which is interesting given that we have a rookie DC and our #1 LB went down to injury, as did our backup.

Dallas is ranked #9, which mathematically proves that Dallas SUCKS!!!!!!

Using math to prove the Eagles are better than the Cowboys…YES!

I can’t wait for Sunday’s game.

this is asked every week

but remind my dumb ass what dvoa is again?

"Never give in, never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

Defensive Value Over Average

The theory is that an average team will do x in any given situation, and if you do better than x, you are a better than average team. Defensive adjustments are made given than a poor defense is more likely to allow you to do better than x, etc.

All plays for each game and season is compared to what a average team might be expected to do, and DVOA is awarded.
