Reid: Desean Jackson has concussion

In his postgame press conference Andy Reid addressed only one injury, the one to his star WR Desean Jackson. Reid said he left the game with a concussion, but said that he didn't think it was as bad the first one suffered by Brian Westbrook.

"It wasn't quite like that one where (Westbrook) was knocked out like that. We'll just have to see how he does here. We'll do the test on him and evaluate him."

"He was just a little groggy. He was able to get off the field and all that fairly quickly."

Watching Jackson on the sideline, it seemed like he spent a lot of time favoring his jaw but he did look a bit out of sorts. Reid referred to baseline tests they'll run on Jackson this week to see if he has any lingering effects this week. If not, he could be cleared to play... but one has to wonder with all the extra attention being paid to concussions this year whether the team and the league wouldn't hold him out whether he was cleared to play or not.

While we're on the subject, did anyone see the Fox pregame crew basically ream the NFL out for the treatment of former players and concussions?

I was PISSED when this happened...

the refs missed a BLATANT helmet to helmet shot. I guarantee that if we lost. Half of this site would be livid that no personal foul was called.

Looked like a solid hit led by the shoulder to me.

I thought it looked helmet to helmet too.

I can see the shoulder argument too, because he did throw the shoulder, but I thought the helmet hit was harder/first.

Blatant?

It was close.. and at full speed the refs may not have been able to tell. If it was helmet-to-helmet, there will be a fine later… that’s about all I’d expect.

that was a great hit he lead with the shoulder … it was pretty text book.

The refs missed a blatant facemask on Avant and a blatant horse collar on Asante but the hit on Jackson was legal.

well hopefully we’ll have him back in the next week or so. I say sit him against the Falcons and have him back the following week.

Hopefully, it’s just a mild one and gets better throughout the week. Every game he accounts for at least 1 TD, either by receiving, rushing, or a good punt return. He is WAY too valuable to this team.

Andy Reid is 43-5 when running the ball at least 30 times in a game( Ray Diddy on Eagles Post Game Live after Bears Victory)

Not that many weapons

If Jackson misses next week’s game, it is going to be hard to see how the Eagles are going to generate enough offense to score the 24-27 points they will likely need to win. Even with Redman at QB and Norwood at RB, the Falcons will likely be able to move the ball against a defense that has been pretty inconsistent lately.

About what I’d expect from an Eagles fan.

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, "where the heck is the ceiling?"
