Winston Justice gets a 4 yr extension

Looks like Winston Justice has officially redeemed himself from 2007's horrible performance against the Giants.  The Philadelphia Eagles have signed Winston Justice to a 4 year contract extension that will having him playing with the Eagles until 2013.

The text I received today stated:

The Eagles have signed OT Winston Justice to a 4-yr contract extension through 2013.

Star-divide

Winston Justice has been doing a pretty good job this year on the line and I'm really happy for him.  I can only imagine how he felt after that pitiful performance two years ago.  Good thing he kept his head up and continued to push for a starting position (and injuries helped his chances too).

I look forward to seeing him help the Eagles to the Playoffs and hopefully a Superbowl!

"Backs in the 'I'...First and 10...McNabb, play action. Is back again. He is looking..he is going deep. He wants DeSean Jackson..who HAS IT!!! HE HAS IT!!! AND STEPPED INTO THE ENDZONE!! He took it away from the defender!! He took it away from Dominique Rogers-Cromarte, and ran into the endzone!!"

It was actually 2 years ago. But yeah. I’m happy for him. Plus, as far as the team is concerned, they probably got a great price on him. Win win.

"Bustice" no more, I guess

Good for you, Winston

This has got to be one of the best stories for us this year

I’m not gonna lie … I really didnt expect him him to start more than two games before we put somebody else in to replace him … but I am very happy that I was wrong … He has definitely held his own this season and spending the offseason in philly definitely seemed like it helped … hes solid in the pass game but we should bring Runyan in during next offseason and teach winston how to be a roadgrader haha

He has done a nice job this season. good for him.

agreed...

No longer a bust. He’s provided answers to what was an ENORMOUS question mark once Shawn was put on IR. Not a Pro Bowler quite yet, but if he keeps making progress, I’m believing we just might be seeing Winny in Hawaii at some point. Going back a few weeks ago, I don’t think I heard Justin Tuck’s name in that Giants game.

On a side note, I’m not sure the cap implications of getting rid of Shawn. It might be expensive……but the guy won’t have any trade value having not played in now two straight seasons.

nope, he is considered

“no longer a bust” when he plays this well for the rest of the season… And no we didnt hear Tucks name but Justice has gotten a ton of help from RB’s and TE’s.

Deserved

I like pretty much every1 else wrote him off. He worked hard and has played well. Keep It up Glad his efforts were rewarded

I think maybe somewhere along the line

the coaching staff realized he just wasn’t comfortable on the left side. He has always played right, or at least since college. Why move him? Either way, he’s been shutting all of us up this year with his performance… I am pretty sure i’m willing to commit to the Peters – Justice era. Maybe we can have the same kind of consistency we saw with Tra and Jon

About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.

"Right now Winston Justice is the guy...until that person gets back out there"

another moronic comment from ours truely

Justice isn’t getting paid much, at worst he is a good backup and isn’t breaking the bank.

Bleed green, or don't bleed at all!

he has played well this year

it’s as though you’d prefer to judge his career by one awful game his rookie year instead of 10 games thus far this season during which he has performed well.
