Eagles shuffle linebackers again

Last week, due to even more injuries at the already injury plagued LB positions, the Eagles; fielded a corps of rookie Moise Fokou at SAM, Chris Gocong at MIKE, & Will WItherspoon at WILL.

That didn't exactly work out...

So this week they'll shuffle the deck once again with Akeem Jordan still out. Chris Gocong moves back to SAM, Joe Mays mans the middle, and Will Witherspoon stays at WILL. At least in this setup, each guy is in the position he's most familiar with.

GREAT! I love it when we are reduced to doing stuff like this!

on a side note does anyone know the seriousness of jordan’s injury?

None of this would’ve happened if it wasn’t for Reggie Brown’s block on Stew…..

"Backs in the 'I'...First and 10...McNabb, play action. Is back again. He is looking..he is going deep. He wants DeSean Jackson..who HAS IT!!! HE HAS IT!!! AND STEPPED INTO THE ENDZONE!! He took it away from the defender!! He took it away from Dominique Rogers-Cromarte, and ran into the endzone!!"

Good. At least they're not accepting the pitiful results from last week

Although I’m really not sure why Joe Mays didn’t get a chance to get out there. After Bradley injured his knee in training camp, word was Mays was the definitive favorite to replace him.

Guess he fell into a really large doghouse.

Because he started two games in preseason and sucked…

if you actually watch how

the LBs respond to the most basic read in football (run or pass) Gocong still gets fooled a lot. I think Mays will be a huge improvement in the middle. Gocong is better on the outside where his speed can make up for bad reads. I think Gocong’s stature among fans is pretty positive because he will make an occasional big play for a loss, but he’s very inconsistent as far as I can tell.

I would’ve rather had Trotter in the middle they must really be down on him after that game or something.
