Around SBN: Miikka Kiprusoff Wins 300th Game, Buffalo Crushes Boston

What record do you think the Eagles finish with ?

I am going to stick with my prediction from a few weeks ago.....8-8.  Heres how I see it playing out...

Chicago...a win here gets Eagles fans excited again !  Mcnabb is riding high after passing for almost 400 yards against a corpse-like Bears defense.  Record --6-4 !

Eagles come back home and promptly lose to the redskns the following week.  Reid throws the ball 65 times and says after the game that "maybe we could have run the ball a little more" Record is 6-5.

.Onto Atlanta...Eagles  bounce back with a close win over a injury depleted Atlanta team. 7-5. Eagles fans feeling good once again. 7-5...Winning the division is in sight !

The following week the Giants win a close one overe the Eagles. Eli Manning leads a 11 minute drive at the end of the game to seal it. ...Hakeem Nicks is slowly becomig the new Plaxico and a hobbled Sheldon cant cover him.
Record 7-6.

49ers come to town.....all will be well if they win this one...and they pull it out despite Vernon Davis scoring 3 td's and having 12 catches for 140 yards.  8-6 ! Playoffs here we come...

Denver rolls in...Standing ovation for Dawkins...the last time the home crowd cheers. Eagles lose 27-10. Dawkins plays like an animal knocking poor Jeremy Maclin out of the game early for daring to go over the middle. Dawkins  finishes game with 12 tackles an int and a Lesean Mccoy fumble recovery. BGN server goes down because of all the angry eagles fans...Record: 8-7.

Last game of the Season....In Dallas... Eagles have a small chance at a wildcard but if they lose its over.
Romo  has an awful game but the Cowboys run game decides it...they hold the ball for 39 minutes. Andy reid after getting down early passes the ball 38 straight times....Eagles lose the game 24-12. After the game Reid says "We just have to get after it next  week and that's on me. Don't worry, we will get better."  Les Bowen reminds Andy that this was the last game of the year. Reid stares ahead blankly for what seems like hours then ends the press conference.

Following the game the BGN server explodes...too many rabid Angry Eagle fans posting calling for Reid/Mcnabb/Luries head on a platter.

The entire summer is spent with fans wondering how they can lure Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan out of retirement.

Tight ends have killed us and they have a damn good one. They could lose to any of those teams really. No win is a given with this inconsistent team.

Hmm, at this point I will say 9-7. I will not go as far as to predict the outcome of every remaining game, except to say we win some/lose some. If I look at the remaining opponents, every one of them seem beatable, but so did the Raiders. I know we had some bad luck with injuries and all, but this team is an enigma right now, and I have no idea how this season will turn out. The only thing I am sure of is that there will be several more games that were absolutely winnable, but we wound up losing for whatever reason.

we either lose to the giants or the falcons…i say the giants
i can guarantee wins over the redskins, bears, broncos, and 49ers..,.so we will at least have 9 wins

i can guarantee wins

Pal, this is the Eagles we’re talking about. Eagles do not understand a “guarantee win”.

9-7

bears – win
redskins – win
falcons – win
giants – loss
49ers – loss
broncos – loss
cowboys – win

i know it’s bleak, but it is what it is.

a loss against the falcons seems more likely that a loss against the 49ers

sure...

but a loss to the giants would have seemed a lot more likely than a loss to the raiders.

so awful they won’t even play the last game.

well at this point I say

I dont give a shit what our record is going to be/is I just wanna go to the payoff, then somehow win that illusive championship while t-bagging everyone in our way.

I’ll give you a loss to the Falcons in ATL…but I don’t expect to lose to the Niners. It seems more likely to me that either we lose to the Giants to split games, or the Cowboys sweep us. I usually expect to split with the ‘girls…but they pulled an upset in Philly; I’m less confident about going to Dallas and winning there.

I only picked the Niners because of how tight ends are killing us. Vernon Davis is one of the best tight ends in football right now and is tied for 2nd in the league in receiving TDs with 7. The second loss could be against anyone really.

optimistic but i’ll never fear a team with kyle orton, jason campbell, or alex smith at qb. then again who’s afraid of jamarcus russell…

by Q27 on Nov 21, 2009 12:42 AM EST reply actions

Jay Cutler?

He’s played markedly worse then any of the three you mentioned.

by cwel87 on Nov 21, 2009 8:44 AM EST up reply actions

Jay Cutler, dispite his interception ways,

Is not worse than JaMarcus Russell by any means. The dude is getting bench for Bruce Gradkowski for living’s sake…

RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.

by Imp on Nov 21, 2009 1:15 PM EST up reply actions

jay cutler would scare me more if he had more targets

but still, he’s a boom or bust kind of qb. he can throw three TDs or 4 INTs. lately its been the INTs though. I hope he keeps it up.

by Q27 on Nov 21, 2009 7:52 PM EST up reply actions

Russell was not one of the quarterbacks mentioned

And it wasn’t Russell that beat us when we played Oakland, it was our playcalling.

by cwel87 on Nov 21, 2009 11:10 PM EST up reply actions

I thought 10-6 before the season started

The Raiders game might have thrown a kink in it bringing us to 9-7; but I think it’s likely we sweep the Redskins (which I did not previously anticipate)

With these Eagles, anything between 8-8 and 10-6 wouldn’t surprise me. I’d LOVE 11-5 or 12-4…and I’d be PISSED if we have a losing record; but I think at the end of the day we’re somewhere between 8-10 wins depending on McNabb’s consistency, injuries, and ANYTHING from our running game.

I said 11-5 prior to the season

And I’m not one to revisit my predictions and change them if they have a chance of coming true.

This week, we need a win. Need it. If we can go out there rolling and put the west coast trips behind us, we can start to grab some momentum against the Bears and the Redskins and keep it rolling.

But, if we lose this week…there is no floor!

I think this team will finish 9-7 too, but if we manage to go 10-6 then we have a realistic shot at taking the division.

The last part of the Cowboys schedule looks about as tough as ours does in my opinion, but we aren’t the ones with a recent history of falling apart in December – they are. And no, I’m not putting all my chips in the pile just because we usually toughen up in December, but if it does happen then we have a legitimate shot to lock up the NFC East.
