"It keeps the defensive front off balance," tackle Winston Justice said. "It feels good when we run the ball. God willing, we get to keep it up."
The Eagles have apparently resorted to prayer to force Andy Reid to run the ball...

Heh
I wonder if players have ever actually gone up to Reid to petition him to run the ball more. Maybe after a bad loss (Oakland), or maybe even during a rough game. I’d love to know.

I'm not sure
what Andy Reid thinks when he makes game plans but it is obvious he relies too much on McNabb. In 2006 when McNabb got hurt, Westbrook had a huge season. I think part of it is he saw that he needed balance to continue winning. Then in 2007, while McNabb was shaky while recovering, again, they relied heavily on Westbrook. I want to be a team that could rely on the run but I don’t know if that will happen with Andy making the game plan.

Devil's advocate
I suspect Reid didn’t trust Thomas and Runyan in the run game and it’s a big part of the reason he went after Peters. His further lack of trust in the normal run game probably led to using wildcat schemes to get run yards. While I think Reid goes insane (80/20 pass/run ratios?) during games, I think he generally understands what he can do best with his personnel.

I think if our o-line can stay healthy now they can be really good. the more they play together the better the continuity will be. also, lets hope they stay committed to the run
