Westbrook Suffers Another Concussion

For the second time this season, running back Brian Westbrook sustained a concussion. "I felt bad for Brian," said head coach Andy Reid. "It's something our doctors are going to look at and they'll be on top of it when we get (to Philadelphia)." It's too early to assess Westbrook's status going forward. "We don't have enough information" Reid said. "We're going to do everything the right way in the way we approach it." In other injury news, cornerback Sheldon Brown left the game with a hamstring injury, leaving another hole in an already depleted secondary. Reid said Brown's injury will be re-evaluated tomorrow. Left tackle Jason Peters did not play with an ankle injury. The Eagles lost to the Chargers 31-23. The Eagles made three early trips into the red zone and came away with field goals each time. On one drive, the Eagles were unable to score a touchdown when they had a first down on the 1-yard line. "That hurt us in the end," Reid said of the missed red zone opportunities. "When you're that close on a first down, you have to get in." But Reid said there were some positive things to take away from the loss. Trailing 28-9, the Eagles fought back to trail by only five points with over 7 minutes to go. bq."We were in a position to win the game, and when you're down by that much, it kind of rips your heart out," Reid said. "The guys battled to get in the position to win the football game. "Nobody hung their head and they kept fighting. There were some positive things, some things we can learn from."

id agree with you jason
except last weeks finish put a sour tatse in my mouth and this week in crucial moments when we should have just punched the ball in the endzone he goes for 3. I know our redzone wasnt looking too hot today but again theres ANOTHER bone i have to pick eith Andy…for christs sake how hard is it to dial up a play where we move a D-lineman to full back, move weave to HB and have em smash it in. Bellichic used to use Vrable as a situational tight end in very similar circumstances

Ok, for the 16 millionth time
Fake the freaking dive and run the naked QB boot leg. It is open on virtually every play. Just have the TE block down and D-Mac walks in. Remember the good old days when teams had to account for our “running” QB? They don’t do it anymore.
Do that once and then the D will have to scheme against it and not sell out. When they show that they are scheming it, fake it and toss the ball to the TE. There Andy, two variations of a play that will magically turn 3 into 7. You can thank me with a pair of Super Bowl tickets.

That play would probably work pretty good with Vick

They'd expect Vick to run
and we lose the element of surprise
