Gameday Lincs - Eagles at Chargers

Eagles-Chargers Preview - Nov. 13, 2009 - NFL - CBSSports.com Game Preview
Following yet another slow start, the San Diego Chargers have gotten on a roll. It's hard to figure which direction the Philadelphia Eagles are headed. Philadelphia failed to build off an uplifting win over the reigning NFC East champions and now looks to send San Diego to the same fate Sunday when these division title hopefuls meet at Qualcomm Stadium.

Keys to the game

Good McNabb shows up — we win

Bad McNabb shows up – we lose

It’s pretty much been the theme of the entire season so far.

I dont know, Im worried about our CB’s against their WR’s.

San Diego has a pretty bad O-line

And their pass D is about as suspect as it gets. I think we’ll be able to pressure Rivers, and their should be no excuse for not being able to put up a decent offense against them.

Peters = no Wimp

Maybe he got a transfusion from Jon Runyan. I’m glad he’s going to play. It sets and example.

I have a feeling that unless our O can outscore them, we will be 5-4. If we slide a safety up to help with Gates, Jackson will get open deep. I can also see Sproles doing damage when we blitz. So I think Joe_D is absolutely correct, whether or not the ‘good’ McNabb shows up today is the real key to the game, because the Chargers will likely put up 28+.

Well, this went about exactly as I has thought :(

I feel much more comfortable that Peters is playing. Not optimistic but comfortable. I also would like to see Westy break out this game. I still believe he got it when he is healthy.
LT and Westbrook, two of the best of their “time” still out to prove they can still play.

Westbrook is just a shell of what he was

Even last year we only saw glimpses. Too injured, too old, most likely his last year.

Cinci’s special teams are horrible

by jemagee on Nov 15, 2009 1:29 PM EST reply actions

they just had a kickoff return for a td

by eaglesinmd on Nov 15, 2009 1:30 PM EST up reply actions

And muffed the extra point and then had poor kick coverage AND an illegal formation on the kickoff at the same time…

3 bad, 1 good….they isn’t a good ratio

by jemagee on Nov 15, 2009 1:32 PM EST up reply actions

haha i didnt realize all that

by eaglesinmd on Nov 15, 2009 1:34 PM EST up reply actions

CBS Sportsline game tracker was giving bad statistics, sorry about that (still illegal formation on a kick off, WTF?)

by jemagee on Nov 15, 2009 1:34 PM EST up reply actions

Roethlisberger sacked for 37 yard loss? THIRTY SEVEN? Someone tell me how he didn’t just throw the ball out of bounds?:)

by jemagee on Nov 15, 2009 1:33 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, so was the poor kick coverage numbers…CBS is usually pretty darn good compared to ESPN and Yahoo

I’m just glad i’m in the ‘southern california’ market so i get the eagles today

by jemagee on Nov 15, 2009 1:35 PM EST up reply actions

Ah, forget it, sportsline mistake

by jemagee on Nov 15, 2009 1:34 PM EST up reply actions

If it's the first half

Then Roethlisberger probably looks terrible… That’s his MO. PLay like crap for 3 quarters and then play like a hall of famer in the 4th.

dawkins still looks like a really good player to me

by eaglesinmd on Nov 15, 2009 1:49 PM EST reply actions

Did you see last week's game?

That typified the kind of player he’s become to me. On the Steeler’s game winning drive Dawkins was up near the LOS and bull rushed through a TE to blow up the play in the backfield. Great effort, great play, everything we love about him.

Two plays later he’s matched up in single coverage against Mike Wallace and gets burnt over the middle for the game winning TD.

by JasonB on Nov 15, 2009 2:11 PM EST up reply actions

anyone just see the trick play the redskins just ran?

by eaglesinmd on Nov 15, 2009 2:10 PM EST reply actions

And once again

FOX in NYC doesn’t show the Eagles game, but will show the Dallas game.
