Chris McAlister
I think this guys still a free agent and hes gunna be way better than any other chump they pick up off the street, hes an experienced vet and a former pro bowler and hes still got at least one more season in the tank, i say they bring him in and see if hes in good football shape, and if he is then sign him to a 1 year deal to replace hobbs temporarily...thoughts?

with all the CB needed in the league, I can't see how good he is if he is still without a job.
I imagine Stoney Woodson is a better option at this point than Chris.

You are right, we realeased him because he showed very little awareness
and always got burnt on those stop-and-go routes. You might be able to use him as a Nickel though.

that's a good point...
but since we are talking about playing in the nickel or dime, a guy with his expierience could be useful. but yeah, i would of thought someone would of picked him up by now.

A 32 year old corner who hasn’t found a job and is 3 years removed from his last healthy season. I’m thinking youth trumps experience at this point.
McAlister suffered a series of knee injuries in 07/08 and from what I remember ran into depression issues and had some personal issues. I don’t know if I’d take on the extra baggage at this point in the season. Iguana knows the system and isn’t a horrible option.

We need guys willing to play special teams
we have some horses including 2 back-up safeties that can play CB as well (Demps and Macho)
What we don’t need is to be forced to play Brown (we know asante isn’t doing it) playing special teams because we’re overloaded with situational Vets that can’t play special teams.

you are right, Macho is a true corner, and Demps plays some CB.

Not really. Macho in college was a hybrid corner-safety. The scouting report on him said he can be a good cover 2 corner or safety but he is not a “true” corner. He doesn’t have much experience playing man to man. I think Demps would be a better corner.

Just saying, thats his college position, he should be able to step in if needed.

I agree Macho isn't a true corner
but I think they can probably get the job done as well as anyone we get off the streets while still helping out special teams, ect. Bringing in a Vet just doesn’t seem to be much of an improvement, costs money and (with all our injuries already) means we’ve got more top starters burning themselves out on special teams duties.

What about Vick?
I know he’s never done it before, but with his speed and athleticism, coming in as a nickle back ( the role which Hanson plays ) might be an intriguing possibility. He may or may not be able to pick up on it, but heck, look at our options now. It’s not like he would be man-to-man on the other team’s top reciever, or anything. He’d be the extra D-back when the other team had their 4th string reciever out there.

ha….you beat me to it.
I actually thought about him earlier when i read the article on Jon Runyan running for Congress. I thought….Klecko will be doing that soon enough.

I live in Baltimore
and watched him get BURNT time and time again. Throw one good head fake on him and you’ve just opened up about a 15 yard cushion for a nice easy throw. He’s washed up. Not to mention the fact that he’s a raging alcoholic and has a piss poor attitude.
